Okay, here is my deal. I have extreme pain in my right leg and right arm, pretty much every inch, and it seems it is down in the bones, ligaments and joints. I feel it really badly at night when I'm in bed or trying to get some sleep. It went from being a bad pain in my calf from the time I was a kid, every few months, to a couple of months ago being a pretty severe, extremely irritating, almost nonstop pain, that is always there, but gets more intense at different times of the day. It is getting worse. Now I am even starting to feel it in my left leg. I don't have health insurance and I have an extreme intolerance to pain medications, hospitals etc. but this is getting worse and I need to do something about it. I have no clue what it could be besides perhaps heavy metal toxicity? If anyone has heard anything similar to my symptoms or have any clues as to what it might be and what I could do about it please do respond. Thanks in advance.
Does the pain worsen with any specific triggers? Do you feel any grinding kind of feelings? Do the joints get hot or painful to the touch? Do the limbs feel weak? Dous it hurt more with physical activity? Does applying cold/heat make a difference? Is it sensitive to weather changes? Does arthritis run in your family?
I've already talked to you about this, lol. It doesn't seem to have any effect when I put a heating pad on it, I've yet to try the ice thing. No changes with the weather, I don't think there's much arthritis in my family. It seems to be less painful with most exercise, but that could be just because I'm not focusing it. With certain tap moves, I feel a lot weaker and less capable of doing things that are pretty simple, except that there is a lot of strain on my leg when I do it.
does this run in your family? have you ever sustained any major injuries to your body are you a vegetarian ? what is your diet do you have any other problems other than the ones described? does it hurt to bend your joints? do you have a weakness in your limbs? twitching? whatever this condition is, you said you have had it since childhood surely you have had medical advice on this before?
No, it doesn't run in my family. I don't have anything medical associated with this, but it rarely happened, and it only lasted a few minutes, it was no big deal. I'm not totally sure this is connected, but it feels like the same kind of pain just a lot more intense now. I've not had any injuries, it doesn't hurt to bend my joints. I don't really have weakness unless I'm doing something very stressful to leg/arm, I just have pain. No twitching.
Why are you posting this here? Your fellow posters may not be qualified to dx you. I am a nurse by profession. Go to your Primary care physician or an ER if you do not have one. You need proper dx and treatment.
I've already said why I'm posting here, because I don't have health insurance or any money whatsoever.
Check your box. Posting here will do you no good. It is a waste of your time, but it is your time to waste.
isn't that the great miracle of the american way of life that the richest country in the world doesn't even provide proper healthcare for its citizens diagosis continued are you under stress? what is your diet?
are you getting enough calcium/magnesium/zinc/manganese? i've always found that magnesium works wonders for strange muscle pains that i've had. look at this and see if anything rings true for you: http://www.publix.com/wellness/notes/Display.do?id=Concern&childId=Restless_Legs_Syndrome pain in general: http://www.publix.com/wellness/notes/Display.do?id=Concern&childId=Pain and there's the capscaicin thread on my forum, that you might want to look at do you eat gluten, dairy, soy or corn? do you get enough potassium in your diet?
hm, more on nocturnal leg cramps: http://www.google.com/search?lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=Nocturnal%20leg%20cramps and .... you're vegan, arent you? gotta be careful of your calcium intake, k?
yeah i was thinking this but they were saying the pains down to the bone was thinking something like bone cancer, arthritis. its possible that they might be from lifting heavy things, this can screw with your body, i've found this myself before, solution stop doing jobs that require heavy lifting. might be more to this.
I had a rare bone tumor as a teenager and the pain was precise in the area of the tumor, worse in the morning and I had a ton of stiffness in the joint twith the tumor. That is pretty common for most bone cancers. The pain is very intense, but generally localized to the area where there is tumor activity. I would go with arthritis if she is favoring the right side of her body, and if you could squeeze together some $$ I'd see a chiro and get adjusted and see if that helps.
Thanks for all the posts, especially the links nimh. Unfortunately nothing seems to be quite that, though each thing I read there is something to be gained/pointed out. I really haven't been vegan for a few months, but I guess I might be mostly vegetarian. I very rarely do soy, I rarely do dairy, I don't do gluten or corn. But I've been eating fish. As for the calcium I will make sure to look into that. I used to take magnesium, I will start taking it again. I'm starting to feel it in all of my limbs but mostly in the right arm and leg, up and down, and it's there all day long, but gets worse at night, usually. I will try the capscaicin. I feel it in my tendons and it does feel like it goes down to bone. I don't seem to feel it more in my joints at all. And when I was a kid, I would a very heavy and tight feeling in my calf, and that happened from sometime in elementary school to March of this year, and that's when it started to progress. Since about July it has been a non-stop thing. It's not related to heavy lifting or any exercise whatsoever. I don't lift anything at all. When I do get some money I will definately look into getting looked at.
You don't need money to have it diagnosed. You go to the emergency room, have yourself admitted for extreme pains in the limbs, they take your blood and run whatever tests necessary, you're seen by a doc who starts a chart and file on you. You come back and get copies of the blood work. Hospitals may bill you but you are not in any position to pay. Hospitals cannot by law refuse to see you when you walk into the place and ask to be admitted as an emergency case. Don't wait girl.
the nocturnal thing means the possibility of spiritual negativity coming in at you at a time when most people sleep and these things happen. I am a ways off holding a seance to ask a spirit questions about you Hannah. Your history of having these pains since childhood also suggests an awareness of others pains that you 'take to heart' that effects your nervous system. If it were cancer, it would have spread and become well known by now I believe. The possible chemical imbalance of not enough calcium is unlikely also as it takes years for calcium deficiency symptoms to develop, it is extremely rare for children in this country to be mal nourished, only you would know that. The something like 390,000 miles of nerves in your body make you a giant brain capable of receiving any number of telepathic signals, especially in hte calm of the night, at a time when the brainwave network is less crowded with words and more emotionally thriving. Ther are many who would tell you that the emotions they had in a dream effect them all day, or for the at matter cause them changes in their lifestyle. Just be aware and try relaxing and learning new stress relieving techniques, try not to get into it with boyfriends. They can act as pyschic funnels, especially if you are sexually involved. My advice is to take it easy for a while, relax. breath deep a lot with exercise. Cramps are caused by anerobic respiration leaving lactic acid in the muscles, that is why some people walk off a leg cramp, increases circulation wiht oxygen reaching the parts of hte body trying to make energy without oxygen..that is why it is called anerobic respiration. peace Honor
i'd probably start by taking calcium and magnesium supplements along with multi chelated minerals. if you take minerals only buy chelated or the colloidal form. have a look through some of my other posts and see what i suggest to people. if you want to know the truth if you seek the answer to your problem you must actively seek it and continue seeking it. the answer to your problem is a process of elimination. as honour seed suggested - try the blood work as well.
just as a further point - with osteoporosis. as i i've read it, the poison thats added to the water (fluorodation) hydrofluorosilicic acid (check the msds for this - google msds, they are chemical safety data sheets) can play havoc with the body. a body with reduced iodine levels is affected more than normal by this stuff in the water. it accelerates calcium depletion.
Thanks you guys for the last few posts especially. In fact it is a lot less painful now. I don't really know why. I intentionally fasted for a few days... fasted as in slept a lot. Rested. I've been trying to make up for a lot of the stress I've been going through so I've been resting, not eating too much... and yes I have the colloidal set of about 12 minerals I think. I will get into that. I read that showering in tap water also gets into your bloodstream so I don't drink it(haven't for over a year) and I don't shower with it anymore either, for the last month(?). I suppose it could be calcium related, but I do get enough iodine in my diet. That I can say for sure. Maybe not from the ages of 0-21 1/2 though... I'm starting to do a lot more yoga and meditation, I will pay a lot more attention to my diet and what I give/take, emotionally/spiritually with people. I have always identified with that of an empath, since I was a little kid. I take too much from other people. If it starts to bother me again I will go the hospital. Thanks again everyone! ((hugs))
