if you can't do it professionally, don't do it. You don't want to screw up something you want so bad. I suppose a fake id is one way to go. Waiting is hard, aint it. But, bleeding out is harder. I'd wait and get it done by a prof.

i can say that no matter what advice is given on here to you you will do what you want...the only things that i have pierced at 'home' were my belly button (i was 14 at the time) and my lip....my lip did get infected and stay infected for about 6 weeks but i kept it clean and it eventually started to heal up...as for my belly button, i decided about 2 days after i did it that i didn't want it anymore....but it is your decision....i can only wish the best for you

Yes, you CAN bleed to death if you hit the wrong artery and it's VERY EASY TO DO. If you want to kill yourself because of some stupid piercing that you're too naive to have someone do professionally, go right on ahead. Just because you know people who have done it with no complications does not mean you won't be the one who does have complications. There are some very serious nerves under and in your tongue and if you pierce the wrong one, you can kill yourself. Exaggerating? Hardly. Study up on the anatomy of your tongue before you go and do something retarded and if you didn't want to hear people's opinions and wisdom, then you shouldn't have asked.

    LOL

Its bad enough people want to stick un-natural holes in the bodies... now they want to do it themselves to save money...

    Very interesting...

I think her main concern is not money, it's the fact she's 16. Which is fine, I have no problem with kids getting piercings, it's just so much safer to go to a professional to have it done.

My brother knows a kid who tried to pierce his own tongue. He ended up bleeding a lot and passing out.

Well. I pieced my own lip and had no troubles but I think that's a lot different then your tongue. I wouldn't do it at home. Even tho your sixteen a lot of piecing parlors (at least here) Don't even ID, so have you tried going to see if they would do it? When I was 15 I got my eyebrow pierced and wasn't ID, so try that out first. But yea, don't do it at home, and if you do, do it, well then you've read what the consiquences could be. So it's up to you in the end.
