Why do people make a comment on the weather when you are in the same place? I think they are mentally challenged to put it nicely. Like ' nice sunny weather we're having, hunh?'........I think yeah you think I'm blind or something?
Maybe it goes back to when what was going on with it would shift if the village had a great crop? Or maybe just someone observing the weather and trying to connect with you on something you are both experiencing? If they said WOW what a great sunset. Would you say fuck you i'm looking at it too? LOL So could someone say that you are Socially Challenged?
yeah someone could even type that if they wanted to, lol...naw these comments are the obvious, I don't read anything into them other than maybe they are afraid to try to come up with a subject that takes to much thinking.
well......talking is a lot like typing to each other...I don't see anyone on hipforums commenting about their weather first everytime they post a post. Maybe they are outta practice being social and socially challenged as wiz put it. MAybe they outta get online and practice up for having an interesting convo in person. peace honor
I've noticed lately that I've been walking around saying,"It's so fuckin' cold out here." Guess I'm one of those mentally challenged things you speak of.
maybe they dont really give a shit about talking to you and nervously sputter out the first common phrase we've all used..
Most folks just don't do very well at spontanious entertainment and they just say the easiest thing, so they don't have to think too hard. Sort of like the "how are you?", "I am fine" thing. Even if you are really having the worst day of your life. It's insecurity and self consiousness. Ya know, like worrying about what do you do with yer hands when you are talkin' to someone? Put 'em behind you, in your pockets, fold your arms? Who gives a flying F. what you do with them besides you? It's just being uncomfortable that makes people act stupid... Anyhoo, it's easier to think first and then type. But it's not so easy to just talk off the top of your head when you are face to face and on the spot... Fear, that's what it is.
back in the older dayz...a german woman travellin alone in a covered wagon selling pots and pans had much to fear...a rattlesnake bite campin out, the wrong rode could lead inta injun country, a band of rogues could steal her blind, cut her tongue out and rape her........ so I dunno what a woman sitting on the bus really has to be skerred of talking to a stranger as long as she don't get alone with him later...... I'm baffled beyond repair earthmother.
I think people say stuff like that because EVERYONE experiences the weather, and a big thing about conversation....especially with strangers....is finding the common ground.
With alot of people it's not from the lack of effort, alot of people just cant think of things too say. Talking about the weather is really just something people do to get the conversation started.
