the tool concert. it kicked ass. it was so much different from when I saw them on the lateralus tour.... but it still was good. it was like watching a pink floyd show with all the lazer lights and fog machines.....
nope, no weird giraffe people (if you are talkin about that nude man and woman who bob their heads and walk on all fours) they did have lazer lights!!!!!!!!!! and maynard was sporting a cowboy hat, a big belt buckle and some cowboy boots. it was quite amusing.
heres the setlist, from what I remember: stinkfist the pot 46&2 jambi lost keys>rosetta stoned schism wings for marie pt 1>10,000 days lateralus vicarious aenima
yes, they were at the first tool show I had seen, on the lateralus tour, but then I didnt see them ever again. that just creeped me out. I didnt know what the fuck was goin on
I actually like the new album, and it is starting to grow on me even more. I wanted them to play rosetta stoned off the new album and they did! and I definitely wanted to hear vicarious and jambi, of course...... the only one I didnt really want to hear was the pot, but amazingly, it sounded pretty good live. wings for marie and 10,000 days was good too...... but my fave of the night definitely had to be lateralus (2nd time I heard it live, but still awesome) and of course aenima to end out the show.
I didnt really like lateralus that much until after I saw them three times on the lateralus tour, and the album just grew on me. (especially after they concentrated on those songs during all of those setlists) its probably my favourite, even above aenima.......
When I saw tool, they rocked til they brought BUZZ on stage...he embarassed them, amd til the end of reality, I wont pay premium prices for tickets, since the opener will most likely eembarrass them.
actually, I d/l this concert from some pink fest thing they played in the netherlands. maynard had that cowboy hat and belt buckle on then too. and he talked about waffles.
When I saw tool they played sober and opiate instead of wings for marie, the rest of the setlist was the same.
Me too! You know, my husband is a huge Tool fan, but I was never all that into them. I preferred Maynard in APC moreso than Tool. But the new album, I don't know, there's something about it. I really like it!
Yes...I'm quite happy with the set list we had. The vocals in opiate were stretched out so they were twice as long as the original. Aside from the dumbass in front of me that was way off key and thought he could sing better than maynard it was a really amazing show. Lateralus was beautiful and the lasers were really awesome. I was at an outdoor show so they just shot into the black sky into nowhere.
