i really need to find a new method of birth control. i use the condom and all and i'm on the pill but the pill makes me super fucking sick and i've tried about 6 different kinds. i don't want to gain weight and i don't want to get sick or get acne from a method of birth control. any suggestions?

Diaphragm or cervical cap. IUD. Spermicide. Sponges. Track your cycle. *shrugs* there's a whole world of non-hormonal bc options out there, they just aren't as effective as the pill, generally speaking. Don't try depo though if you react poorly to the pill.

Talk to your doctor. If you don't feel you can talk to your doctor, go to Planned Parenthood. There are some lower dose pills out there. There's also the NuvaRing, which you insert into your vagina and leave in place for 3 weeks -- the hormones are absorbed through the vaginal walls instead of having to go through the digestive tract, so this option gives you the lowest systemic dose of hormones of any effective hormonal birth control. As mentioned above, there are also many non-hormonal options to choose from.

Spermicidal foam is a great accompaniment to condoms -- you just insert an applicator-full into your vagina before sex... if the condom breaks, the foam is your second line of defence against pregnancy. In addition to foams, they also have jellies and a very thin film (kinda like those new breath freshening dissolving strips), all of which you can buy over the counter.

the depo shot seems to be the easiest.. you going in every 6 months and get a shot.. other then that the pill is hard cause you can't miss a day and you have to take it at the saemtime everyday.. so I would do the depo shot!

If you have trouble with side effects from the pill, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT do the depo shot!!!!

That shit is in your system for 3 months -- you can't just stop taking the pills to make the side effects go away. If you are having bad side effects, especially if you've tried 6 different types of pill, that suggests that you will probably have a bad reaction to depo.

Yes, and if you gained weight on the regular pill, the Depo Provera shot will make that even worse. I didn't gain more than a few pounds on the pill, but I gained 40 lbs on Depo, not to mention the depression and the loss of sex drive. It isn't for everyone.

If you had problems with the Pill, Depo wouldn't be a good choice for you.

Barrier methods are not that bad. They require a little work, but much LESS work than a baby! ;)
