Have you ever heard of the song by the Rolling Stones called Little Red Rooster?-How about Smoke Stack Lightning?-There is a new documentary on the life of Howling Wolf -It was on cable the other night-Great!-It showed him playing with Muddy Waters and every blues man ever come out of the Mississippi Delta years ago-If you geta chance to see it I would jump on it-This is one DVD I will actually buy and not burn because the money goes to his family-He was a big family man the Wolf was and he did'nt allow his band members to get high or drink before a show-After hearing his music and watching him I came away a fan of the man-The dvd is called The Howling Wolf Story and yes he did play the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco in 68' with Quicksilver Messenger Service!-3 bucks got yer ass in!-and a free (worth thousands today) poster-help-someone turn back the clocks-and give me 3 more bucks!

I'm thinkin about taking a road trip down the coast to Big Sur-I haven;t been there in many years-The drive down 101 is fantastic and I;ll go through my hometown-I will stop in Monterey for dinner down at Cannary Row and have dinner with Doc 'Hazel and the boys -maybe geta bottle of Old Tennis Shoes while I'm there-In Monterey theres is a good feelin in the air on Sweet Thursday-like nothin could go wrong-My; we could sure use alot more people like Woodie Guthrie -Jack Keroak and John Steinbech now-maybe they could make some sense of the way things are goin on right now-through music poetry and verse-bring back the beats-trade in the pc for bongos; sourdough; and a bottle of red-and don;t forget the Monterey Jack cheese!-can ya dig it daddy-o?

It was the old timers that we got our beat from. Howlin' Wolf was awesome!!

When they started incoperating R&B and Jazz. is when RocknRoll was born.
I think it was mostly the music that came from the black communities that had the most influence on musicians from the 50's till present day. Altho I don't concider RAP as music. It's more poetry set to a beat, like the Beats did in the coffee houses that lined the back streets of big cities.

I suppose it runs in stages of eloquence.> The ones like Chuck Berry and Bo Diddly and even older ones from the 20's. I think the 20's and 60's were parallel in a lot of ways.

Prohabition was like the marijuna laws of today. The clothes and slang were outragous, like the 60's. The Blue Meanies were always bustin' in and bashing people with their nightsticks.

The youth wanted CHANGE from the staunch atittudes of the community. They wanted to listen to their music and talk their talk bc it gave them a certian ammount of freedom. If you listen to some of the 20's music, it's all about smokin' and gettin' high, losin' your baby cuz of drinking and stayin' out all night.

There really is nothing new under the sun. I think we just take it to the next level. The generations that follow will take it even further. I do hope that Rap phases out like Disco did tho. Not comparing the two.

I watched a film yesterday. ( not to be off topic). It was about THE BAND, probably the most versitle group ever made. They played backup for almost every national band there was. Not to mention their own singers and music writers.

I sat there in a time past, It was like 'Going Home'. There were so many old friends that came together to play with The Band. Neal Young, Rita Cooledge, Emmy Lou, Bob Dylan( the band was dylan's backup band) Bo Diddly,Kenny Logins,Van Morrison, just to mention a few.

I think the music of the 60's/70's were touching on more then just dance music, there was a message there of Peace and Love and Untiy within our Spirits. It seemed like the universe opened up and just poured down on us.

We changed minds and influenced people. We were their children and we changed the world with our Music and Brotherhood. I think we were The Indigo Children of our time.

Little Red Rooster was a very suductive song. The vibrational tones and quaility seduced many a teenager. (grinz). I wonder how many people got laid listening to that song. I'm not trying to but crude, it's just a down right sexy song.

The way their fingers slide up and down the neck of the guitar neck and the tones that vibrate the very fiber of your soul. It's like a tribal instint that it brings to the surface. It make you move slow and snake like, prowling. It draws you seductivly in with it's throbbing beat making you hungry with desire.

Music certianly does involk strange and powerful chemicals in our brains which in turn releases into the atmospheir and connecting itself with responsive chemicals of like.

HA! Enough of my ramblings, Have a Great Day
