Many organised religions have a problematic relationship with the values dealing with women that were crafted in secular societies (e.g. sexual freedom, abortion, self-determination, formal equality, etc...). Which of the following organised religions do you feel is most comfortable with these secular values?
I don't know much about buddism which currently has the highest votes but I know for a fact that Islam considers men and women to be equal in almost every aspect. If need be, I can prove it but would prefer to keep that in PMs rather than here since these types of topics tend to get out of hand on public forums.
Nothing listed there as far as I know (maybe Buddism) but certianly not on all the issues. It would have to be a religion started by a woman... all the rest of those especially christian want women at home making babies, cooking dinner and kissing hubbies ass.
HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! What a BIG LIE! It's more than a fact that women in islam are sometimes less than a domestic animal... Would you deny the lack of civil rights that women have in all muslim countries? In saudi Arabia, for example, they are not allowed to drive vehicles, must be standing in buses if the free seats are next to a man, etc. etc. What about the execution of lesbians or aduterous women? Is that "equality"? What about the requirement of covering the whole body and sometimes also the face? What about the separate gender beaches? Be realistic, islam is the WORST religion for women! (and also for men, hehe). .
WELL SAID!!! Not to mention that in many islamic countries women have their clitoris cut off to insure they do not enjoy sexual intercourse and not even able to masturbate. When I was in Iraq in 2004 I couldn't help but notice how many women worked the fields and live stock while the lazy ass men laid on the ground watching. Just my thoughts.
Islam is still very young in comparison to Christianity, and was born in a part of the world where they had to be more fundametal than their competitors (Judaism/Christianity) in order to survive...not to defend them though. I would have to say Buddhism. Following that, Christianity. But only some denominations. That's the trick to Christianity, there are soooo many varieties, from the truly repugnant, to bearable. ie. Baptist vs. United
