pick buds when seeds are ripe

    my friend has buds with a lotta seeds in them he doesnt really want seeds but he thought of somehting pretty smart when u by bud the seed is always developed so should he pick when the seeds are brown and developed?

    If your not harvesting for seeds your better getting a magnifing glass and harvesting based on the trichromes.

    That is an intriguing question!!! My first instinct is to agree with B'man - I believe that a close look at the trichomes lets you see the cannabinoid ratios actually changing (before your own eyes!). Allowing you to harvest at just the right "buzz ratio" that you like best. This may be the most accurate way to judge when your buds are ready to harvest (it's debateable) but it is certainly the most difficult.

    The time honored method of using the pistil hair color as a guage is much more straight forward and (maybe) less confusing - not to mention, probably, more popular.
    The only problem with using seed developement as a harvesting guage is that you can't really see them untill the bracht pops open. Most of us consider seed developement to be like an "occupational hazard" so not much is written about using seeds as a harvesting gauge. By the time the brachts pop open all of the cannabinoids should be way past their primes (degraded, big time!). That's my best guess - I've never gone that far!
