The charge depends on where you're busted, not your celebrity status. Famous people get charged the same as you and I...they just have better representation come court time. Willie isn't going to prison for a misdemeanor. Why does everyone assume prison is like a country club? I didn't realize getting shanked and ass raped had any similarity with getting drunk and playing golf.
Mr. Biggen, I highly doubt Mr. Nelson would be placed in one of the well known institutions with high mortality rates. While the charge does not depend on celebrity status, I find it hard to believe, as do most I would think, that celebrity status does not ever factor into the equation. Also, the amount of money that typically comes with celebrity status plays a big part in it as well. If you think I'm jsut referring to the quality of representation, you are mistaken. A working class man that gets caught with 1.5 pounds is going to have a much harder time claiming that the marijuana was for personal consumption than somebody with that status of Mr. Nelson. Do you not concur? That being said, while being easily recognized is not one of the many facets of celebrity status that plays a role in celebrities getting off light, celebrity status factors into the equation and will continue to do so for years to come.
The charges were placed as a misdemeaner charge of possesion on al 5 occupants of the tour bus, non felony just a fine and possible local jail time. Now he has several priors for the same charges, this was 1.5 pounds of weed for 5 people and the shrooms. I know I would have been busted for traficing and quanity with intent to distribute but then Im not rich!
