    Because of the boring office time and depressed mood, I eat more and more and begin to put on weight quickly. I did not pay attention until one day I came across John and fell in love at first sight. In order to restore my slimness, I have been on diet for a couple of weeks. My friend told me her secret recipe. You can eat as much meet and fish as you want, but no rice, no bread, no sugar, and the absolutely necessarily is half a grapefruit after every meal. Oh, we may discuss it in detail next time if you are interested.

    Besides, yoga can make a woman more pretty, so I¡¯d like to learn yoga. However, I have no gears, and my friend suggests me http://www.opentip.com/catalog/Yoga-1_9231_9232.html. They look very nice and cheap, but I don¡¯t know which ones to choose. Shall I only buy a ball, a mat or a whole kit? It seems the yoga kit has a better price.

    Also, do you learn yoga from a teacher or simply learn by yourself by a book and video? I learnt dance for several years in my childhood, so perhaps some books and videos are enough to me? I hope we can exchange more useful information here, that's why I join in today.

    hey =)
    yoga is a real good way to identify yourself more with your own body and its of course first just like sport or sth. but if you do it some time, you'll get into different aspects. hatha yoga means 5 things: asanas = body work, right way of relaxation, a balanced (!) diet, positive thinking and meditation and right way to breathe. if you do so, it can affect your hole lifestyle in a healthy way.
    You can read about all this in books, but my experience was, that a course with a good teacher is something different and for me, I do yoga every day and I'm a teacher as well, its still something I need!! most teachers I know offer a free first lesson, I would advise you to just use it, it's a really good motivation. and you can chose the aspects you want to do more intensive...
    you don't really need a kit or sth. - helpful is a mat to practice and a good will =)
    ...excuse my english

    Well, thank you very much for your suggestion.

    So, I shall first buy a yoga mat and a book perhaps and then atten some kind of class, right?

    That's great!

    It must be great to be a yoga teacher, Aha!

    From experiance, this diet works and fast but as soon as you start eating normally you WILL gain it all back. You'll notice, if you look this diet up on the internet under New mayo-clinic or Grapefruit diet, you will usually be on the diet for a set time and have to come off the diet for a set time (12 days on the diet and 2 days off, then repeated). Try it if you will, but it isn't that great for you and messes up your metabolism a bit. (I'm still trying to get my metabolism back to normal and it's been over a year)

    As for the yoga stuff, I'd just use a video for now or take a class. If you have carpet you don't need a mat, I have a mat and don't use it. If I am somewhere where there is no carpet, I will bring my mat. That is the one thing I really liked about yoga, you don't NEED any equipment to do it. If you want to buy a ball or some blocks or bands you can, but I waited till I knew it was something I could stick with.
