Anyone else hang out at skippers on thursday nights? My boyfriend and I are there sometimes. It's a good time. Great atmosphere.
I just moved to FL....Palm Harbor, which is about an hr away I guess. I have not heard of Skippers yet...what is it?
Skipper's is a restaurant during the day but at night they have entertainment. its outdoors yet fenced in with huge trees so its sorta inside (very cool...hard to explain). every thursday they have a grateful dead cover band and then after midnight some people bangin out on bongo type drums. There's booze and stands where u can buy clothes, jewelry, incense, pipes, etc. It's awesome all around.
that sounds like a damn good time. im in gainesville and i might go to tampa for a few days just for that. how do i get there. hehe

my buddy Steve plays there a couple times a year. Hubby used to hang out there in his own GD cover band ICOK ( I see, Okay) in the late 80s. And I'll bet those are djembe drums, not bongos!
I have been there, you are right the building is unique, and very tough to describe. Uncle John's Band is comming to mag fest this year, looks like mag fest is on the up turn with their line up. I was one time in the bar area, and there were a group of hippy guys talking & they were saying that "HippyVixen" was the hottest girl on hip forums
