i just found out that my grandpa died because of working in a paper factory. the chemicals they used gave him cancer. he wasnt very old, 50 somthing. they killed him and theres other people just like him dieing all the time because companys just dont give a damn.
aspartame - aka neutrasweet - look it up sometime, that place producing it has an unusually high unexplained mortality rate. I wouldn't recommend drinking it either. It's found in most diet coca cola products I've read the label on. this may be off topic, somewhat, yet, similar in a way enough I thought I'd mention it.
i know people die. but he wasnt very old and it could have been easily prevented. i know about that aspartame stuff, i try to stay away. and im not sure what company it is or if their still around, all i know is its in CA.
My grandfather worked in a cement plant. He is now dying of black lung disease... Like someone else said...everyone dies of something.
Mabey we should get a list of companies who do things like this, Than we can start a boycott or something.
There are companies that can prevent it and those that can't. A great deal of my relatives died from black lung, being coal miners and all. Occupational hazard. In factories that make shit like paper and sugar substitutes, come on. There has to be something that can be done.
In most states there are occupational safety rules that must be followed. Has a class action ever been filed against the company your grandfather worked for? Is the factory union? If so you could apeal to the union for guidance. At the very least you should request that your grandfather's physcian file a report of his death with OSHA: http://www.osha.gov/
Sorry to hear that, did it happen recently? Cases like these were disgusting during industrial revolution, let alone now. I'm not sure how it works in America, but in England I read of cases like this leading to the family being compensated financially. I know this won't bring him back, but it would help your family and punish the company in the only sort of language they understand- money. If you can proove he died because of his job I'd imagine you can do something about it when you're ready.
My grandad worked in the army and he got killed by a bullet in some battle or other. These people should be sued for making dangerous working conditions. Its the workers who make a company what it is and if the bosses endanger the lives of these people they should be sued
The place were my g-ma worked out gave her breast and ovarin cancer .... Shes still alive today !! Shes a real fighter ... my one friends uncle died from cancer beause of the paper company he worked for ... he made toilet paper and paper towels ect I am really sorry about your grandpa that really sucks Its ashame that people die from shit like this all the time
Sorry that their lives had to be taken by corporate america. These chemicals that are produced by DuPont and other companies are now all seeming to cause cancer or other problems. Even the medication we are given is made of these same checmicals that cause more problems. As for the wood pulp paper, it unfortunately needs many different chemicals to bleach and process it into a quality for paper. The best solution for this problem is to start using hemp bast fibers for all papers because it only requires a few organic solutions to treat the paper into its pressable state. It is a very durable paper and building supplies made of hemp are 2X stronger than wood fiberboard.
And by "or something" you mean sit on your ass and smoke weed while preaching righteous justice to retarded people on the internet. Am I warm?
