Alot of people are saying since we live longer....ect....ect....that the new 40 is 50 and 65 is like 80? What do you think....
I think it's just another form of denial, the inability to accept the simple fact of life that yes, we are getting older and we just don't want to admit it to ourselves, so we make ourselves feel better by saying "oh, such and such age is the new minus 20 years!". Psshhh! Then again, you're only as old as you feel. *shrugs*
I think if you're broke down you're broke down. It doesn't matter what age it is. I'm telling you what though if they start denying people social security until 80 there is going to be a big fucking problem amongst the 55-60 age group.
When there's no longer any more money in Social Security because the squanderists in Hotairington D.C. have mismanaged the budget there will be much wider unrest- depending of course on how well the purveyors of half-truth spin the fund's disappearance.
I think it's all in how young you feel. Plus, I knew an eighty something year old grandma that was still getting some, & with younger men too. When she was in her seventies, she went out and bought a cherry red vette. I shit you not.
I knew an old farmer from Michigan. He was 80 plus, and he worked his farm everyday. I was about 13-14 and he was tons stronger than me. On the other hand I see crackheads everyday who are 30 years old, but look 60.
theres a lot of people saying that that the generation of kids now will have a shorter life span than there parents...kinda sad me, well i plan on being gone by time i'm 40, so i won't have to deal with all that crap.
I never understood this reasoning of '40 is the new 30' and 'pink is the new black' and what ever.... what does all that mean?
Eh, it's just some ignorant trend started in Hollywood. I despise trends, personally. I get so frustrated when I see some show come on tv like Access Hollywood or one of those shows and the host says something like, "We'll tell you where to get the hottest fashions worn by celebs. You too can sport a handbag just like this one." Now, why the hell would I ever want to do anything the celebs do? I am not paying someone seven thousand dollars for a fucking ugly handbag that is olive green with tiny LV's all over it. Fuck that. I make my own rules and live by my own standards. I refuse to do "what's cool" simply because it IS what's cool. Call me crazy, but I am my own person. I hate terms like Bradgelina and Bennifer. All these made up Hollywood words like metrosexual and manpanion get on my nerves.
well i do think, in general, that ppl are starting families later in life, getting married later and staying in school longer. so in that sense, 22 is the new 18, right? something like that... sex in the city made the 30s seem like the new 20s right?
Well if 30 is a 20 then 20 is a teen and a teen is ??? There sure is alot of underage sex going on, lol
lol maybe the teens are just lasting until college ends. we'll have to add teen to all the 20s.... twentyteen, twentyoneteen
When the average life span is 130 then we'll have to redefine the age categories, but until that time 70 is 70, and 80 is 80 (and 31 is 20 if you can pass) Hotwater
Manpanion is a term people in Hollywood use to describe a man's gay lover. It is a merging of the words man and companion. Pretty lame. Just say "boyfriend", makes better sense.
The first time I heard that phrase was after the death of Rock Hudson, then it went away for a while only to reappear Hotwater
