open the Firefox browser and type
    about:config
    in the location bar
a big list of settings appears and you can doubleclick any of these
to change its value. PLEASE DONT CHANGE ANY YOU ARE NOT SURE OF

The twentieth setting in the list is called "alerts.height"
If you want to know what that does
go to the Mozilla knowledge-base for firefox here and
type it in the search box - same for any you are thinking of changing
