Hello, I just thought I would introduce myself, and of course ask permission before I posted any pictures/details/questions. I'm not sure if you would mind my posting here, or if I should just post in the other grow forums? My grow experience is limited, and somewhat dated. I have not been part of a grow outside of a couple of peek-ins in over 3 years. And even before then I had only been part of 5 grows when I was between the ages of 17 and 21. They ranged from extremely simple soil grow's and drip systems to a couple of basic DWC's. I loved the experience, outside of the stress, yet had to shy away from it the past couple of years, and have remained solely a smoker. One of my close friends did just the oppositte, and for the past three years had been doing quite well for himself, and refined his organic growing quite well, and he had different mixes for nearl each strain he would have at any given time. His original interest in organics, and source of his beginners knowledge was gained through none other than BOG> Although he never registered nor posted, he constantly used to talk to me about who he referred to as his "guru". I would talk to him and times and peeked in at OG and that other place a couple of times, but just couldn't let myself go there at the time and had to shy away. Anyway, about a month ago, a friend approached me,who knew I had limited knowledge, but access to more, and said his family was getting their medicinal cards. His mother has just gotten over breast cancer, his father and his uncle have debilitating arthiritis, and he is having some health issues as well.He asked if I would caretake for them, and being my new job has left me in search of a new hobby, I of course agreed. I began catching up both with my friend and online, when my source of knowledge was forced into hiatus, and can only be reached when he calls me. I only had his basic recipe, and not dialed in to any degree, and know it is basically BOG's with just a slight adjustment. (We are going ordering 3 BOG books this week, which will be the perfect refresher.) It has been tough, with OG down, and with some of the rumors I have come across about that other place that not only seemed to be plausible, but I even noticed a Fem C99, and thought to myself-BOG didn't do that, did he? And I since feel a bit uncomfortable providing hits there. Although at times I must. Unfortunately we had purchased seeds before I knew some of this, but at least we ended up with C99 seeds, not FEM of course!!! We have 3 rooms, one 10x12x8, one 8x10x8, and one 4x5x8. Would have loved to do a seled 3 room setup. We have no need to veg here, and wanted to flower 12 in each under 5x600 watts, with the smallest room being our control room, but it looks like the room is a bit to small for this, so we will most likely just use the two larger rooms for flower rooms. I can't find my camera cord, but I will get pictures up of the rooms and equipment in the next few hours. I've never posted pics through a proxy, should be ok? But I gotta run, hope no one minds the huge post, just a bit of background. ahelpinghand Please understand, this grow consists of 4 medicinal patients-2 of which are heavy smokers, one is medium, and one could be considered a light smoker. Each grow must last the 4 of them the full three months between grows, so although this may sound substantial, it is in no way commercial.
Good to hear from you sir. Of course you may post and ask questions here. My book should be of some help. It isn't necessary to have complicated mixes and it might be beneficial for you to consider your system requirements based on the local medical medical mari laws you live under. It sounds like the number of plants is the limitation where you are. In this case growing a few larger plants certainly makes sense. As you will find in the beginning of my book BOG is a 2 room system consisting of a small vegging room and a 3 times larger flowering room. Whatever size you use remember that lighting is different for flowering and vegging. Vegging requires less expensive lighting and less of it. If you plan to grow from clone you still need a vegging area to maximize flowering times. You dont want your flowering room wasting time vegging big plants. For this reason many flower larger numbers of plants at a smaller size. Either way I think a small veg room will increase the efficiency of your system and even at two locations if needed for meeting legal requirements. BOG
