The big if: The question i ask of fanatics and even moderate religeonists is, "if your god did not exist, whould you actualy notice, and how?" I ask the same question of avowed athiests in this mannor; "if there was a god, whould you actualy notice, and how?" My point in both cases being that we base these decisions, that effect how everyone lives, ourselves included, on what might be, while ignoring and remaining largely indifferent to, what we do know and can objectiely observe. =^^= .../\...
Religion is based on faith. The existance or nonexistance of God would not shatter realities. It would take proof to actually shake a believer/non-believer to the core. Atheism and theism are founded on the institution of faith. IMO, religions shouldn't dictate how anyone but yourself lives. Religions don't dictate behavior or force people to do certain things. Only youself is able to do that in a free society. My question to you... Is what we can objectively observe the embodiment of reality, or do our senses limit reality?
. when i get to thinking i'd just objectively observed some wonderous god thing - then i'm more certain of it if there is a corraborating witness OR if it happens twice and i am then able to have a self-critical context (of the senses) . i do hallucinate .
Wow ! what a brilliant argument !! Damn I have never thought of asking this but from now on I will make it my best ! As an atheist I would have to say that I would only believe it was god - if and only iff all the religions accepted it was god - if any doubted - then I would take their side If I was the only doubter in the world, I would be a fool to doubt
