Whats the trick to cooking a sunny side up egg i can never seem to do it just right. I hate eating the film over the yolk though i always scrape that off. Other than that i never cook them right though. My dad told me to get the pan and grease hot before putting the egg on. I have no clue?!

put a lid over the pan to trap the steam inside, thus cooking the top

let the pan get hot before you pour in the oil, then turn the heat to med after you crack the egg in there. it makes it cook nice without burning like it would on a higher setting.. then just gently flip the egg over once the bottom is cooked. i hate sunnyside eggs, but ive mastered them for my boyfriend. hah

covering the pan works best.... then again, I'm more of an 'easy over' egg type.
