it's just hair, do whatever you want to do with it, and don't worry what anyone else thinks about it (says the middle aged mom with purple hair whose five-year-old has dreadlocks) If you don't like it, it will always grow back out. Ive never dyed my hair I never understood it. It seems to me that it would repel a lot of people you could otherwise start up a conversation with. But its your hair so if our really want to dye it dye it, ask a homosexual or female for advice. It is my experiance that heterosexual males tend to give answers to suit their own interests as opposed to giving you the best answer. i.e one of my friends asked what color they should dye their hair back in HS, I said pink as I wanted to see my friend look like a retard. He never ended up dying his hair.
I believe your age is the perfect time to get alittle wild with your looks and experiment. You don't have to work so it won't effect your financial matters. And you know, it's just fun. My parents wouldn't let me dye mine an unnatural color but I wish they would of because now I have to work and my dream of having rainbow colored hair just might have to wait until I'm 65... and by then I'll look a hell of alot crazier doing it at that age than you would at yours. But yea. Who cares what your hair looks like (except maybe your folks) Have fun
i bleached my hair when i was 16. it looked alright when it was all bleached, but looked much better when it just sort of highlighted my hair
well, really weird colours tend to be more acceptable hereabouts than just dying your hair blonde or black or what have you. Green and blue tend to be nice colours on guys, in my book at least. Punky colours (literally the brand name) tend to last decent, but I have no idea as to their availability. You may need to bleach your hair first too, depending on the colour choices (natural vs what you want)
for unnatural colors, I like Special Effects hair dye. It lasts a long long long time. If you don't want it to last very long, get Manic Panic at any beauty supply store. But, going from brown to any lighter color, you gotta bleach your hair first. The closer you get it to white, the longer the color will last. But the more you bleach your hair, the more damage you do to it also. Start deep conditioning it now, before you do anything else, to get it in good shape for the horrors of bleach and dye!
If you bleach, you may want to invest in a hot oil treatment as well (there are home-kits available of the stuff, from what Ive heard not terribly complicated). I've only had my hair bleached a handful of times and my regular conditioner is -amazing- so I haven't had to get the hot oil yet personally, but it does help my friends who have to bleach much more than I do (yay natural blonde-ness)
I had; green,red,blue,white,purple,yellow,black,brown,blonde, anf grey hair when I was younger.They all looked alright.
