So here I am back in the same place I was. Turns out, just because the parents didn't press charges doesn't mean I still can't get up to 10 years in prison. It's solely up to the detective to decide whether or not I do. My lawyer is in talks with him right now. Trying to get my journal back I hope. He advised me to cease all contact with the girl and that's really hard cuz I love her. I am at the State's mercy right now. I hope they are gentle because my whole life will be dramatically effected by their decision.

Basically, I had sex with a 15 year old. The investigators found a journal with everything I've done this summer, including the sex episodes. I was nervous the girl's father would press charges because he is a police officer himself, but he didn't. The girl is white, so being that I'm in South Carolina, the chances of me getting in trouble are much higher than many other states. There's a lot of racial tension in this state still.
That sucks dude. Hopefully theyll let you off. Either way wont you end up with some sort of parole and being a listed sex offender. Which basicly fucks your life up anyway.

Man, I feel sorry for you - that is a complete bunch of BS. When I was 18, I slept with a 15 year old girl who I loved and ended up staying with for 8 years. I can appreciate laws of consent in terms of age as well some people take advantage of youth, but in an innocent situation like yours, the law needs to step down.
