after noticing how incredibly dead this forum is now, i thought i might as well make a new thread about whats been goin on lately for me been gettin extremly involved in school. im normally there from 3pm to usually 12 or 1 in the morning. sometimes i stay in as late as 9 am...i try to avoid doing those sessions on weekdays as of right now, i got finish recording this one song with a girl who has an AMAZING singing voice. we did this spanish song we made up on the spot...i think it turned out alright, though i could of probably preformed better... on that same night, i also, for some reason, was asked to play a little guitar part over a beyonce song i dont know why they needed it, but they seemed to really appreciate it. i've been trying to create some more original music. i've got a few ideas recorded, but nothing to great yet. im also in the middle of mixing 3 songs i did with a full band. I suck at mixing though, so im gettin a headache everytime i attempt to do it. but, only way to get better is to keep at it i suppose in class, we have started post-production(sound for pictures), and thats been pretty sweet. we take a minute from pirates of the carabien(i dont know how its spelled, whateva ), and redo all the sound in it. we've so far done the diolage, foliey and music. i forgot the last thing we do...i think its SFX. but thats been pretty sweet. as for school in generally...i think im startin to get burned out i havent really studied as much as the beginning, cause now that i have all this access to gear, i tend to waste my time on that rather then on books and notes. anyhow...i think thats enough to tell ya people to letcha in on whats been goin on on my life. its 3 minutes to 4:20, so you know what that means good night/good morning everybody
Cool, I wish our school focused more on individual music instead of the marching band. Unfortunately, it's one of the best in the country, so all the music facilities are being used to get the band ready for the Parade of Roses and the halftime show at the Rose Bowl. *shrug*
That's pretty cool Pauly Your school seems to me motivating and exciting , a thing any school should be I'm glad you're doing well .
Ahaha, maybe you should take a break, Paul. I need to get to work on all of these damn certifications... Logic, Pro Tools 210, Reason, AutoTune, S6000... ugh.
I say, GOD DAMNNNN I knew about half of that already.. but it all sounds very exciting but i agree with derek, you should take a break. you're always recording and stuff, how do you manage to focus on school? I mean, if you can manage it without getting run down, thats great.. but if not, maybe you should slow down a little...
ya, i've been thinkin alot about all of those certifications to. i think tonight im gonna try to study the logic book. still havent done that...but, i know guys who are in 10th cycle that still havent read it, so i guess im not doin that bad on it
well in recent cycles, we havent really had a whole lot to do. the only test i remember taking last cycle was a pro tools profiecency, which was easy. however, i definitly gotta study more post-production stuff...its cool stuff, but i havent studyed a thing about it.
oh well, it happens. i just remembered...i think one of the reasons why i dropped out of college was cause i forgot to do my english paper to. but it was more reasons then just that man, i dont think i could ever deal with college
