I had my nose peirced a few years ago with a hoop (there wasn't any other options at that time, I have a screw now). The peirceing part wasn't that bad, I hardly felt it. About a half hour later it was tender, a lot like a new ear peircing is, and it inflamed a little but that went down in a couple of days.

After that it was tender for about a month with a moderate amount of pussing up. For sanitization and using a q-tip, I put the same solution stuff on it that you would put on a new ear peircing. Then get rid of the pus I also used q-tips.

(Expect pus, and expect to have to get rid of it or it could lead to more infection. All of the people (over 10) I know that got nose rings had at least some in the first month.)

I would do it again in a heart beat.

    Love.

my nose is done two times. I did the top one and had someone else do the second one. there was only a week inbetween piercings.
the one i did myself didn't hurt really bad, a very tiny amount of blood and a tear. but the worst part was trying to get the needle through the very inner most layer of skin. it's thin and super sensitive and very very hard to get through.
the bottom one was done with a piercing gun and it wasn't that bad (but being the chicken that i am, i had to freeze my nostril with like three freezies!!!, don't think it did much good) i jumped and had a tear. then i had to change the earing, cuz the one i wanted didn't fit in the gun. i waited like an hour before changing, but it didn't work! that stupid little layer of skin automatically sealed up, in like 2 seconds! and it took forever to get the ring in, i had to re-pierce that layer and then the blood ran like crazy!!! it was worse then a normal nose bleed, it was just pouring out!!!.

after that it wasn't hard to look after, cleaned it with antiseptic. but i got these bump things around the hole, i think they were forms of infections, not sure but they went away after the piercings tottaly healed, i havn't had any problems since.

I actually just had mine done a couple days ago. I'm cleaning it the same way I did with all my other piercings, which is just dial soap in the shower (I'm not sensitive to fragrances or anything). I also am trying to do a sea salt soak once a day. As far as the pain goes, it wasn't too bad. I would say it hurt more than my ears and my belly button but less than my tongue and nipples. My eyes watered quite a bit, also.

I have had mine done for a while....but from what I remember, it didnt hurt all that much. Its just a quick pinch. And mine healed fine. No soreness....nothing. I just cleaned it and rotated it like I was supposed to and it healed perfectly. In my opinion, the nose is the easiest thing to have pierced.

I had mine done a while back but took it out. When they pierced it man my eyes teared up. It's not as bad as giving birth but it did sting. I think I changed it way to soon and that wasn't a good idea. Finally took it out because I kept hitting the ring so much and it stayed tender. Guess each person is different. I do like the way a nose piercing looks though. Maybe one of these days I'll try it again.

I had my nose pierced four years ago but I stop wearing it last year. When you first get it done it stings for a minute but after that your fine.

My mom pierced her own nose a few years ago. She said that it was fine until the needle got to the inside and had to be forced through...then it really 'smarted'. Don't ask me what tha hell that means...lol...she has a hard time saying that something hurt, so she says 'smarted' instead. She had to remove it because her sinuses were making it icky and red, and it was hard to change out her jewelry. That kinda sucked though...'cause she's the only pre-kindergarten teacher I knew that had her nose pierced and two visable tattoos. :sunglasse She's hella cool.

I have pretty bad sinuses and Im always blowing my nose and getting sick. The nose ring doesnt make a difference either way. It doesnt get in the way...or cause any problems. Its like it isnt even there.

DO you still have a hole in your nose? I'm thinking about taking mine out and I want to know if I'll always have a hole? I took it out for almost a year, and had to repierce (that damn inner layer) myself. It was all done except for that. Honestly I think that hurt more thatn the initial piercing.
I've had mine done for three years, form what I recall, it hurt just as bad as getting your ears pierced. Mine was done with a gun so it was quick, they used a stud. I cleaned it and kept it rotated. Wait at least six weeks before changing it though, everyone else I know got impatient and got their noses infected. I never had any problems though.

The clamps hurt alot, then you get a bit of blood when the peircing happens.

I got mine done and loved it...then the next day I woke up and my nose was so swollen that I couldnt see the ring. It looked like my nose ate it! It was crusty and it hurt.

I just kept it clean and within a few days the swelling went down.
I had it done with a screw.

I tell you what though, when people say let it heal before you change the ring...listen to them, I took mine out too soon, and had a hard time putting it back it. when I finally got it in, it hurt like hell.
Also when you change the ring, let a piercer do it if you change it to a screw. They are really hard to get in.

    Good luck!

My piercer didn't use clamps. Actually, he generally doesn't use clamps on anything. He rocks.

aftercare must consist of sea salt soaks twice a day for 15 mins and washing with a natuaral soap like dr. bronners or an antibacterial...and you should be on to happy healing

I got mine done a little over a week ago. I'm happy with it. It does hurt, but it's just a pinch and then once the jewlery is in it doesn't really hurt that bad. I clean it twice a day with antibacterial soap and every once in a while I put antibacterial cream on it. I've had a problem with playing with it but I've stopped now.

    Hope I helped.

I had mine done once... I wasn't planning on it... I went with a friennd who wanted her's done... and she tried to chicken out at the last moment.. so I said that I'd get mine done first, so she could see what it was like... so I did.. and then she did.

Anyway, the actul piercing was fine, no problems with that itself, but the aftercare was a pain in the ass... and it hurt like a bastard... my nose got very very sore, and in the end (around a week later I think) if fell out in the night, and I decided to not put it back in.

Maybe I'm just a wimp, I don't know... but for me, it was a bastard (plus I don't think it looks all that good on guys).
