Yup, your representatives hard at work passing bills against child molesters. Of course some of the very same people who write and promote these bills are THEMSELVES child molesters. Case in point: Republican Mark Foley who just resigned due to a scandal involving a relationship with boy page. http://www.local6.com/politics/9965371/detail.html In Congress, Rep. Foley (R-FL) was part of the Republican leadership and the chairman of the House caucus on missing and exploited children. He served 7 terms in office and was just up for re-election. What disgusting hypocricy. Not surprised it was a self-righteous republican... UPDATE: The following comes from Foley's website which has suddenly DISAPPEARED from the Internet... Look at what this guy authored and promoted. 7/21/2006 FOLEY CHILD SAFETY LEGISLATION PASSES SENATE WASHINGTON - Congressman Mark Foley (R-FL), Co-chairman of the Missing and Exploited Children Caucus, applauded Senate passage of legislation he authored and introduced overhauling our nation’s sex offender registration and notification laws. 7/11/2006 FOLEY INTRODUCES SWEEPING LEGISLATION ATTACKING INTERNET CHILD PORN INDUSTRY WASHINGTON - {Congressman Mark Foley (R-FL) introduced legislation last night along with Congressman Michael Fitzpatrick (R-PA) that goes after the Internet child porn industry and for the first time would hold credit card companies and Internet service providers accountable if they knowingly facilitate child pornography. Why is it that those who are MOST vocal about certain crimes often commit them themselves? I wonder how much kiddie porn this guy has on his computer... Like others (including Pete Townsend) he'll probably say it's for "research" that he did for these bills he wrote & sponsored.
Here's more.... He's in HOT FUCKING WATER! The Sexually Explicit Internet Messages That Led to Fla. Rep. Foley's Resignation September 29, 2006 5:59 PM Brian Ross, Rhonda Schwartz & Maddy Sauer Report: Florida Rep. Mark Foley's resignation came just hours after ABC News questioned the congressman about a series of sexually explicit instant messages involving congressional pages, high school students who are under 18 years of age. In Congress, Rep. Foley (R-FL) was part of the Republican leadership and the chairman of the House caucus on missing and exploited children. He crusaded for tough laws against those who used the Internet for sexual exploitation of children. THE BLOTTER RECOMMENDS Read an instant message exchange a former page says he had with Rep. Foley in 2003. Warning: sexually explicit language, reader discretion advised. Sixteen-Year-Old Who Worked as Capitol Hill Page Concerned About E-mail Exchange with Congressman Check out the World News Report on Foley on the Brian Ross Home Page "They're sick people; they need mental health counseling," Foley said. But, according to several former congressional pages, the congressman used the Internet to engage in sexually explicit exchanges. They say he used the screen name Maf54 on these messages provided to ABC News. Maf54: You in your boxers, too? Teen: Nope, just got home. I had a college interview that went late. Maf54: Well, strip down and get relaxed. Another message: Maf54: What ya wearing? Teen: tshirt and shorts Maf54: Love to slip them off of you. And this one: Maf54: Do I make you a little horny? Teen: A little. Maf54: Cool. The language gets much more graphic, too graphic to be broadcast, and at one point the congressman appears to be describing Internet sex. Federal authorities say such messages could result in Foley's prosecution, under some of the same laws he helped to enact. "Adds up to soliciting underage children for sex," said Brad Garrett, a former FBI agent and now an ABC News consultant. "And what it amounts to is serious both state and federal violations that could potentially get you a number of years." Foley's resignation letter was submitted late this afternoon, and he left Capitol Hill without speaking to reporters. In a statement, he said he was "deeply sorry" and apologized for letting down his family and the people of Florida. But he made no mention of the Internet messages or the pages. One former page tells ABC News that his class was warned about Foley by people involved in the program. Other pages told ABC News they were hesitant to report Foley because of his power in Congress. This all came to a head in the last 24 hours. Yesterday, we asked the congressman about some much tamer e-mails from one page, and he said he was just being overly friendly. After we posted that story online, we began to hear from a number of other pages who sent these much more explicit, instant messages. When the congressman realized we had them, he resigned.
It wouldn't have surprized me to know it was a self-righteous democrat. There really isn't any measurable difference between the two parties...
I know this is a serious topic, but how awesome would it be if the guy was caught by "To Catch a Predator"? Chris Hanson grilling Mark Foley would have been the coolest shit ever! Hanson: You ask the boy, "Do I make you a little horny?" Do you think that's appropriate? Foley (in tears): No, no i dont, i'm so sorry. Hanson: What were your intentions today? Foley: I wasn't going to do anything, i just wanted to see him, maybe watch a movie... Hanson: Did you bring condoms today? Foley: No, i mean yes, I mean... i always carry condoms on me. Hanson: What do you do for a living? Foley: I'd rather not say. (hanson voice over: Dateline NBC found out that the gentleman known to us as Maf54, is actually a florida congressman, later after pissing himself and offering to give detectives quote "BJ's to make this go away" unquote, he admitted as much.) Fucking hilarious....
Here's a transcript of this guy Foley with yet ANOTHER young male page having Internet sex... Enjoy your representatives at "work"... http://abcnews.go.com/images/WNT/02-02-03b.pdf
Sorry Andcrs2, but the hypocricy of this guy is FAR MORE cause he basically preached day-in, day-out that we should lock up these child molesters. Republican hypocricy has never been more evident than this election cycle. Need I go into details more than this one incident?
Are you saying the dems aren't as hyocritical? Somehow I don't believe that on either national/ state/ local levels. I do believe it would be a tit for tat contest regardless of the level/ period of time - years/ decades/ century. Sure there aren't any dems guilty of something similar - either lower profile or yet undiscovered? Religious orgs aren't exempt so why should the dems? Just a curiousity questions...
How about feigning to be against the Middle East wars while profiting from those wars, sounds like a lot of dems i know...
The rep's take another torpedo amidships POW. Bush & co. may be so damaged that not even bin's head on a stick will save their sorry asses. The corrupt vindictive neocons will be frantically trying to find dirt on the dem's, and if they can't no problem, thy'll just make something up. We already know they have a total disregard for the truth.
What's w/you Folks? The parties' names can very easily be interchanged and the stories would remain the same. What's so difficult in understanding they're birds of a feather? Wouldn't all these wasted efforts/energies be better spent replacing both parties or is it a situation where Power corrupts?
This is IT! This is gonna bring down these self-righteous republicans for GOOD! Hastert, Rove, even BUSH had to know about this! THEY COVERED IT UP FOR ALMOST A YEAR! They are all criminal co-conspirators now! They covered up a crime. A crime that was committed by one of their own. You know if it was a democrat they would've first had him arrested. But NO! Instead of PROTECTING THE CHILDREN, they PROTECTED THE PREDATOR! That is your government at work, people. That is how this country is being run, by HYPOCRITICAL, SELF-CENTERED LYING BASTARDS!
Republicans and Democrats are both scum. Both are traitors to the middle class. Child molesters and paedophiles should be publicly executed with a shotgun blast to the head.
The democrats don't usually conspire, especially the top leaders to keep a pederast in power, now do they? At least Clinton did it with an adult.
WTF? It appears the word 'democrat' is written in invisible ink both in this thread and History. Prejudices are virtually impossible to deal w/logically. ie: this thread ~~~~~ Both parties have abandoned the Middle class as well as the Lower class.
Sorry, anders, but you've brought this thread off topic 3 times now, - which is REPUBLICAN Mark Foley, no democrats involved in this scandal. You've just bought yourself a time out for duplicate postings & derailing the thread.
