Check it, some digital art for your perusal. I did this piece because a Taoist master commissioned it, and he gave me free creative reign. He now uses an entire body of artwork that I did for him to help elucidate his teachings. credits: Taoist master Tao Huang's website : www.ascendinghall.com my website: www.divinerealms.net my "mommy", Mona Ryser, did the drawing of the little twin kids at the navel region, the ones with the ribbons all around, sucking their knuckles under the beehive. peace and juicy plums Eric
Thanks. Well, where to start? A lot of the images started as hand-drawn sketches, then I scanned them into the computer and manipulated them from there...colorized them, etc. Mostly I used a software package called Photoshop, but I also used ZBrush, which helped me create, for example, the orange-red rocky formations at the bottom of the poster. ZBrush is what they call a 2.5 Dimensional paint program, so it can include depth information (things like shadowing and sheen) to make things look solid or gel-like. It's hard to really explain exactly how the digital art is created, because the software contains a diverse and complex set of tools that must be learned by study, trial and experimentation. for another example of this, the heart with rosey looking wreath around it. I did this all in Zbrush. See how the heart stuff looks like puffy putty? This putty quality was created "automatically" by combining the right properties of a digital brushstroke (which I controlled by my mouse to do the lettering). See how the lettering conforms to the surface of the heart-like glob? That was done "automatically" by the depth-finding properties of the digital brush. See how the "THC" (which stand for my commercial vehicle, the Tingle Heart Company) is gel looking, with a glimmer of light reflection ? This light scattering is a quality called specularity, not to mention gloss and translucency...all of which can be quantified (or dialed up and down) in a sufficiently powerful software program. I hope this helps your understanding of how it all comes about. well, nuff said, it's a strange world of techie meets artist...I love it!
woa.....i think i can see were you drew some stuff.....but were do you come up with all the weird stuff like the fetuses holding the triangles lol..... im gonna download zbrush or w/e i can find for free and see if i cant do some digital art.....iv got a few doodles from english class in my backpack somewere i think i can work with..... this is really cool....im surprised noone else seems interested
Hey, I would be proud to think I encouraged someone to begin an exploration of creating art, by any means...but yeah, "digital" is fun....digital can also mean "with your fingers"...ironic, no? You will see, when you start playing around with Zbrush...don't be put off by the harsh learning curve, just stick with it. heh...the wierd stuff...yeah...well, I'm not sure if you are asking what inspires the seemingly strange content, but please keep in mind that the category of art in question is alchemical. Down through the ages, various bodies of esoterica have been transmitted through strange coded language and sometimes also strange coded pictures, or artwork, or dance, ..etc. so, those fetus holding triangles could have a special specific meaning to those initiated into a complex system of self-control... and it could also serve, as all art can and does, "merely" as fuel or vehicle for the beholder's own idiosyncratic experiences, perceptions, appreciations, gestalt... fucking A, I'm gonna make myself puke, I sound so psychobabbly sorry about that
