eventually I am going to buy some seeds and will probly get a male or 2 out of them. What I am wondering is do they need the same lighting in blooming as the girls do?? I know that with poorer lighting conditions the females produce lower quality buds and that is why we like giving them lots of HPS light. But what happens to the males if they don't get that great quality light? What if they are under CFL's for their bloom? I would like to harvest their pollen to make some seeds later on but don't want the males fertilizing just any and all girls in the ame bloom chamber. So what do yall think? Can males be bloomed under CFL's without much of a draw back aside from probly producing a little less pollen?
Hey Dash! That's a damn good question!!! Unfortunately I don't have a damn good answer. My gut feeling and my best guess is that they have the same lighting requirements all the way through the flowering cycle. But that's just an educated guess! I haven't really gotten into "Breeding" yet so the males have always been more of a nuisance than a subject for study for me. It will be interesting to hear what some breeders have to say!!!
