Luke suggested we should have a forum for writers on here, and Jon suggested one for Literature (I'm not sure what Matthew or Mark had to say on the matter!) Anyway, Arts and Crafts hasn't been very active recently, so I was thinking we might be able to rehaul it - give it a new name and and make it an all purpose forum for Art and Literature, for both discussing the works that are out there, and for posting our own art and writing. What does everyone think? I'd like to hear Dandi's view too, as she started the Arts and Crafts forum up ages ago. And also what would be a good name for the new forum if we go ahead with it? The more suggestions the better
I vote "The Bobby Gillespie Memorial Fundraiser Forum" ... let's face it he's going to die soon and we need to start doing something about it!
To be a little more serious ... I like the idea of keeping arts and crafts separate because it gives people a place to show things they've made, written, painted etc which is a different thing from talking about established artists, novels, etc. I dunno maybe there just wouldn't be the demand for a separate forum though. Could always see how it goes. Be nice to hear what Dandy thinks
I know what you mean about wanting to keep it seperate, but I'm not sure, at the present time at least, there would be enough demand for a pure literature forum. I think we could start by changing the forum description, so that it's clearer that its for creative writing as well as visual arts and crafts. I've always posted writing in there, but it's not very clear at the moment. That's not too much of a problem, as nothing has to be too clear cut, and a certain element of haphazardness has always been what I like about this place. But if Luke wants a writers forum, and if others do, it might be best to change the description to include writers. As for the literature side of things, we could leave those to the main UK Forum until demand increases perhaps? Not my call though, this is an open decision. The more input people give the better....
Arts and Crafts has become Arts, Crafts and Creativity, with a new subtitle that will hopefully encourage more creative writing there
