I hardly ever wear a bra because they are so restricting and uncomfortable. Will this lead to my boobs prematurely sagging?
No. And even if it does, your boobs are sagging because that is what your body is designed to do. When you breastfeed, your breasts will begin to sag. Bras suck, unless you have tons of boob and need the support.
no, what makes boobs sag is pregnancy, age, and gravity, in that order. Breastfeeding won't make them sag any more than formula feeding, it's pregnancy that causes the biggest changes.
Usually they do tend to sag, especially if you are doing sports and your breasts are bouncing around and pulling downward. They loose elasticity over time naturally. Also, having heavy breasts with no support tends to put stress on your chest, neck and face. It can over time pull the skin down and stretch it out. I have heard that fallen breasts have a bit more trouble with blood circulation. I'm not saying this may be the case for everyone here, but it makes sense to think that circulation is different once your breasts are being supported. I love my custom made bras. They don't have any wires, they weren't made in Taiwan, and they *FIT* me like no other retail bra in the entire world could, and the support in the design and material is incredible. If you want a natural look, but still want to have proper circulation and support, then I would highly recommend custom made bras. Mine were a little pricey, but they have lasted for years.
I am now on my 4th year without a bra, and I can't see that they have sagged. They are of medium size.
LOL anyway, i haven't worn a bra in years (7ish) but i wait tables and run around at work all night. i'm not what you'd call small....36C last i checked... but i always wear those camisole undershirts, with the bra support built in...no wire or anything. they're like $5-$7 and last a bit. they're so much more comfy than bras, and add an extra layer in the winter! peace.
I also vouch for the cami tops with built in bras. It's waaaaaaay more comfortable than a bra, not near as restricting but still keeps my boobs from juggling around at work , and if I get hot I can take my shirt off and still be wearing clothes. yay My breasts aren't small either, I am at least a 36c. They have always sagged a bit, but I don't mind.
I love cami tops with a little support, too. Good for "boob sweat season" as well. (Which, of course, when you have carried 4 kids to term is about 11 months outta the year.) All the dudes who post here are going "WTF is she talking about?" All the chicks with boobs larger than a B cup know exactly what I am talking about.
http://www.antibra.com/bra_sagging.php I use to be in this community bras_suck on livejournal but when I went there to get some links it turned out they deleted my journal since I haven't used it in forever. It took alittle while to find this. There's alot of links saying otherwise but it's all from people trying to sell sports bras so I don't trust them. p.s. I love this quote I heard some where... "Who's was it that stated in the first place breast shouldn't sag!!" They do, and they are suppost to. so basically get over or get plastic surgury. But I'd recommend just being happy with what you have
How bras can kill you... http://www.health-science-spirit.com/breasts.html this one is good but loooong. I scanned it but I pulled this quote off if because I thought it was funny "The Purpose of a Bra You might think that to be an insane question. Most people know what a bra does… right? They hold breasts in place! I wonder what happened to breasts before we had bras… did the breasts fall off?" But this one has history and all that. Apparently bras started out trying to make the breast look boyish. Who would of thought. http://www.teklinepublishing.com/bc-bra.htm
p.s. I just relized the way I worded that was misleading... the second link is the best one. All the info you could ever ask for. and alot of links at the end. I'd read it all but I don't have the attention span right now and by scanning it, it seems to be mostly things I have researched before. I greatly recommend every woman out there knows the truth. and teach your children.
i have worked long n hard for my saggy tits... most men aint got the ballz to say anything about it,,,, guess maybe since i am absolutely comfortable in not wearing one
it has a lot to do with genetics and how well you take care of your skin really. BFeeding won't affect it but if you have large boobs and your weight yoyo's your skin may not be able to keep up and you will start to sag. Having said that. I am a nurse. I work with the elderly and I have seen boobs to the waist and I even know a 96 year old lady who has the softest, whitest skin and her boobs are as perky as a twentysomethings.
I have very large breasts, did not wear bras until my mid-twenties, and did not start to sag until I was pregnant with my first child, at the age of 32.
i'm 31, have breast fed two children, have huge boobs and they're not at all saggy. partly due to my youth, party due to keeping the skin healthy. though i will confess, i hate not wearing a well fit bra when i'm active. the damned things flip and flop all over the place and when i bounce, they bang downward with enough force to be very painful. however, seems to me that any amount of gravity working over a hefty-sized piece of flesh will eventually lead to a bit of droopage. but who cares? by the time your nips are points at the ground and hanging between your knees you'll have ceased to care, they'll have served their purpose anyway.
my mom has really saggy tits. she used to hang around the house naked (around everyone..) all the time, so.. i never remember her having perky boobs, but then, she absolutely loved to breastfeed...she breastfed her third child until they were almost 7...
