One of my teachers was just telling us about 2 bills that just managed to get passed in the US 1. the torture bill, 2. the detainment bill.

I dont think those are the actual names but basically they allow the US govt to detain and even inflict bodily harm upon any "suspected" terrorists. If this description is true then the US is (term jacked from the movie Snatch) Proper f'ckd as far as human rights go. Also if this isn't bull, does anyone know about real estate in New Zealand as I'd love to move there. :)

I dont doubt my teacher but I can seem to find any websites that dont make this sound like a load of crap. Anyone happen to have any good links for non-politically governed news (prefer something that just sticks to the facts and leaves out all the radicalist and often simply opinionated comments if possible)

    Much appreciated in advance. Thanks

Oh and just so I haven't been deemed as posting in the wrong board, there is supposed to be a protest this thursday in front of the NYC UN building, however no permits so bring your hard hats ;-) Not sure what times yet but I'll try to find out if anyone is interested

nvm about the verifying it, found a few posts on here, just not titled according to what I was looking for :)
