Barret M95s are civilian legal (with a Class III license), if you can charge the gun, you are a true man. .50 BMGs aren't the easiest thing to charge... And banning certain types of guns only bans it from the law abiding citizens.
Banning something such as a gun makes it a lot harder to get your hands on it because the price drastically jumps. Many criminals don't have the income or the knowledge to purchase something like that. Do you honestly think I can walk into any hood and purchase an AK47??
A couple thousand dollars and a Class III license says yes, depending if you find a good enough store. Its sad that an AK47 retails at $350 in the middle east, and yet here it costs a hell of a lot more than that...
most ppl wouldnt give up there guns i dont think. we need them for protection, food if need be, and it even says in the comandments thing that the ppl like ben franklin wrote. i know it would also put my uncle in the poor house, hes a gun engraver for which the majority of the proceeds goe to a orphan home!
I have never fired a gun at a person and I belive in my right to bear arms...MY RIGHT. lotsa irresponsible people out there. Bt them assholes that kill people at schools are a minority. I know people with arsenals, better equipped than a unit in Iraq. Yet they dont shoot people. They train, and can shoot people. But they dont. Psychotic people want to kill. They would do it with or wothout guns. enough guns exist with enough countries that wont ban them, that the people we wish didnt own guns will always own them, but possibly they will own a lower quality gun. Ban guns so criminals serious;y have no control over what they actuall;y hit.
One day maybe I myself might own a gun, but all as I'm saying is that if some mental nut job is reported to the cops 100 times and is seen as a threat possibly without even breaking the laws I would love to see it where the judicial system in America had the right to take his weapons away from him. OT: One thing I’ve always failed to understand though is why the hell is it illegal in California to own butterfly knives and brass knuckles but I’d have no problem picking up a nice sniper rifle??
IMO, we just need tighter gun control. alot tighter, leave the registered owners alone and crack down on those who aren't following the rules. By making illegal guns damn near impossible to get hands on, crime rate would very likely reduce (at least a little) Or you could take the Chris Rock approach and make every bullet $5,000 ;-) No innocent bystanders ever again.
I take strong issue with government gun control because it's in their best interest that we, as the average US citizen, do not have access to the weapons that could actually defeat their military if a revolution ever occurred. I don't believe in illegal guns...if someone wants an M-16, they ought to be allowed to have as many M-16s as they want. I don't think people should have to register, why should we tell the very government, we are arming against, the weapons we have? That gives them an advantage. They know who is armed and can plan their strategy accordingly. I'm all about making sure the American people have the upper hand if and when such a war comes into being...even if it means possiby endangering some innocent bystanders.
I understand your point, but I think the vast majority of people who are illegally armed aren't concerned as much about revolution as you are my friend. Most of them are armed for the reasons that you would generally associate to illegal weapons, illegal things. As much as I see where your ideals can be a good thing in the long run, there is no way that my personal morals would allow me to agree with that. I dont feel that any innocents should be put in harms way for any reason, think about it. If your family happened to be gunned down by some back alley mugger using any illegal weaponry I dont think your outlook of the situation would be quite the same.
Wouldn't happen. My family carries guns. If some back alley mugger encountered most of my family, he'd be shot before he could utter a threat once his gun was revealed. I come from a family where everyone is taught how to shoot. I was born in Montana to a tough-as-nails woman who kept an elephant gun to shoot any bears, pumas, or crazy mountainmen that came near her homestead. I can understand how some people fear guns being in the wrong hands however, if they were armed, they'd have less to worry about and crime would actually decrease because a criminal wouldn't risk their own lives for a few bucks. Ever wonder why the fewest homes broken into are the ones where people have dogs? It's because the average criminal is such a lazy pussy that he would sooner go for the dogless home. Also, no homes where people have the signs "Trespassers Will be Shot on Sight" are broken into. Why? Because thieves are pansies in the end. When was the last time you heard of someone who was walking their dog get mugged? Probably never. All americans should have guns and/or dogs. Dogs that like to bite the asses of idiots who live to hurt and steal.
haha, that made me chuckle. I was saying in more of a hypothetical way, such as if it was a sniper at 500 yards for example.... But anyway, I see the logic in your post, although I still think its not something that should actually come to term. Do I think it WILL come to term, the way things are going in the good ole US of A lately, I can see it as a definite possibility, however my sense of optimism would rather have me hope and believe for otherwise
I thought you hippies were all for peace, and this man wants to blow a hole into the side of our country?? Not that I ever believe a revolution would ever come into play this day and age, I still can see the first attempt by some crazies, killing innocent people for the cause, only to be brought down by America’s far superior military. I'm not the biggest fan of American government, but I doubt a revolution would change anything for the better. Until they let people get tanks, fighter Jets, and battle ships on layaway we won’t be having a successful revolution any time soon.
Its called an example, I tried the standard shoot em down but they're all armed to the teeth, even the toddlers have hand grenades for baby rattles man!!! Sniper it is, either that or a blackhawk helicopter. JMZ
Barret .50 does not require a class 3 license except in the kingdom of California. AK47 does not require a class 3 license unless purchased as a full auto. Damn... so many pro-gun people I can't beleive it... paranoids... Countries were guns are easier to get have a highter gun kills rate... 8 times highter in the U.S.A. than in Canada (so it's about 80 times more kills)... http://www.radio-canada.ca/nouvelles/societe/2006/09/14/011-dawson-registre-arme.shtml
first off, guns will NEVER be banned completely. its just not gonna happen so theres no point voting on it. second the world would not be any better a place without guns. i think violence would just go a degree higher and more severe without guns. thus, i vote no to banning guns.
