Steve Irwin was the guy who if you ever had the luck to meet, he would change your life the moment you met, he was really that kind of guy. I never met him personally, but from the moment I first saw hom on Television, I knew that he was something special, he had this air about him that made you feel happy where ever you were. Ive seen countless numbers of his documentaries and even his movie, and though I was unable to attend, I saw his daughter Bindii bravely walk onto that stage that day of his memorial service and give her speech, while her proud mother Terri watched with overflowing tears, I saw Terris interview with Ray Martin the other night, which peaked at 2.901 million viewers. I hope that as Terri Irwin says, her husbands remains will be kept a secret, as that is how it should be. We will all miss Steve Irwin in many different ways, but we will all remember him the same, as that brillian man who showed us that all animals, whether they are big or small, venomous or non venomous, endangered or not endangered, are important. Crickey we're going to miss him.
wanttofeelaccepted<-----Changed it anyway. It didnt really suit my personality. This one's closer to it.
My God. Get the fuck over it. He was a human being, like the other forty-five thousand that die every day
not to mention kind of a douche....i mean come on, he almost universally harassed the animals he filmed and evoked aggressive behavior by pissing them off/scaring them. millions of people go swimming near rays and other fish of all sorts (even sharks) without getting hurt. in fact, getting close to stingrays is pretty common when snorkling. they don't hurt you unless you're doing something to provoke it....cornering a stingray or otherwise messing around with it - particularly at an angle where it's barb will catch you in the chest if you get hurt - is going to provoke such behavior. honestly i'm surprised he stayed alive as long as he did, with as many snakebites and other injuries he's sustained after mishandling dangerous and wild animals. how can you claim he changes your life forever just by meeting him if you've never seen him except via the idiot box? anyway, he was essentially the "Jackass" of "educational" television and wore out his welcome with stunning rapidity. i could list any number of far more inportant, influential, and above all respectable humans who have brought attention towards the situation of our world's wildlife without harassing them. (hey - do the names jane goodall or jacques cousteau ring a bell?)
i dont give a fuck what you say, nesta, that guy was the shit. I have so many memories of watching all of shows and i always thought he was the coolest guy ever, and i was probably right. so fuck you, disrespecting steve irwin like that. shame on you
Douche or not.. I respect that he had his priorities set straight. He knew who he was, and that's respectable. He was a cool cat, I think. The colourful environmentalist is always the good guy, right?
Actually he was in no way provoking the ray nesta, it was all in their positioning. Wrong place at the wrong time.
He was nuts. But we adored him. something awesome about an aussie who jumps on wild animals and yells "BEAUTIFUL" I WONT LIE, i TEARED.
My three year old loved him. He thought it was so awesome that steve irwin got the chance to be close to all those animals like that..
The thing i really don't get... Why another topic with the same subject??????? What's wrong with you people?!?!?!?!?!?!
OMG. Someone disrespecting Steve. I'm disgusted. He belived in conservation and has done more to the environment than any other human being I know off. He gave animals save places to live and looked after the environmet by buying large blocks of land in Australia and looking after it for the animals to stay I cried for days when he died and I cried when I watched his memorial, whenever I hear True Blue sung my heart clenches up and tears well as it descrives Steve to a tee. I wll get over it in my own time but not just yet. I watched on ABC thismorning a documentry on Steve and his family and I still cried. I watched the interview with Terri an Ray and was suprised on how well she is dealing with it. I really do look up to their family and am very proud to be an aussie as that family has the true Aussie spirit.
