Hello everybody. thought to attach a link to a site with anti-drug advertisments running on TV has anyone seen them ? http://www.abovetheinfluence.com/the-ads/default.aspx This is a link to a good review of the "Petes Couch" anti-pot ad from above and has links to other anti drug TV messages, some classics. http://www.slate.com/id/2150334
double post but there is no way to delete one...... so i will just mark it like this PLEASE DELETE THIS POST! thanks
bleh, i didnt find them that funny, the petes couch one is the funniest IMO, or really the only one with any sense of humor
That's some funny shit. After watching "Awakenings" I felt empowered. Fuck Weed, I don't need that shit controlling my life. I am above the influence. Thank you anti-drug commercials made by people who don't know jack. You have saved me.
this is the funniest shit i know, haha, and did that guy just stop smoking weed because of the commercials? or are you just being very sarcastic... because i am convinced that there are people that only get on to be sarcastic, and when im severly stoned, how the hell am i supposed to know? lol... BAN SARCASM! .. nvm.. bai.
just sarcastic, i dunno i guess these commercials only work if u never smoked pot before, since i mainly smoke pot to have fun and much about, not kill my mum or OD on heroin . hahahahah i dunno the couch one might be true but c'mon its only sometimes, i still live a sweet life and i dont think anyone that didnt know i blazed could tell i do. atleast it says it harmless health wise. the rest is for the first timer to decide. and damn man weed never prevented me from doing anything improtant, how dumb could that guy get with the girl
To be fair, most of America sits on their couch all day anyways. And its not like deep thought can't be achieved on a couch. That commercial pisses me off... its like they're saying that if you smoke pot, then you have to sit on your ass all day. I've done a lot of constructive things stoned before.
Most of these are just too bland, but a few of them are kinda funny. Seems to me like the guys who came up with these ideas just smoked some crappy stuff and veg'd out too long. For the most part, I think the idea of not letting people you know change you is a good message, but as for antidrug, i think people should experiment with something (obviously from someone they trust) and make their own decisions, otherwise they are letting the commercial makers infuence them, and that aint cool either
^^ haha i agree. also, i believe that smoking pot is better for you, rather than sitting on the couch watching tv all day. because pot increases your heart rate, and makes your metabolism higher. so if you mix working out with smoking it is beneficial, IMO.
eh, i have been smoking for 6 years, am 15 years of age, 6'2" and weigh 140 of course i used to play sports, stopped playing about 3 years ago, but my metabolism has yet to change.. dunno maybe im just lucky ;D
Its not an original thought, read a post one day, on the net, that said these ads were produced for the family values, moral majority set as a way to tell them that the goverment was still on ther side, still fighting drug abuse. A kind of a pep rally for the morally abstentious. interesting thought.
I saw the Pete's Couch one on TV and I thought it's one of the only anti-drug commercials I've ever seen that made any sense--coincidentally, it's also one of the most honest. There are cons to smoking weed/doing drugs, and this was one of the only commercials so far that actually addressed those issues without resorting to misinformation. Of course, it's not always the case that smoking pot turns you into a couch potato with no motivation, but it's definitely a possibility. But then again, who says that's such a bad thing? It beats fucking ice skating.
