Why is there so little agreement

    As to questions

Which will anyway be left unanswered

    To which there’s no certainty

And about which there will be nothing certain, ever?

    How could we know

Will we ever come to know

    Something clear-cut

    About the existence of God?

    Which God?

    Whose God?

    What Bible

    What absolute, reference book

    For all our questions?

    Who created those and why?

    How could we actually know

    Anything certain?

Why can’t we create new values?

Who were those before us who did

    Create the values we’re guiding

    Ourselves after now?

    We’re swimming

    We’re floating in no direction

We’ve lost all sense of orientation

In a world where so many things are relative

    Wishing to touch upon land

    In an ocean of relativity

Wishing to step on a little land

    Of absolute truth and certainty

In order to have something stable

Something clear-cut to hang on to

Can anyone give me a template

    To distinguish right from wrong?

    What law, whose law

    On account of whose authority

Do we actually judge the world

Why have we not asked ourselves

    The question WHY?

Why believe it because so we’re told?

    Who are those who judge

    Those who give their opinion

    On what we can achieve,

Those telling us how we should live

Those telling us what to believe?

    Can anyone tell me,

Is it necessary that I die in order to live?

Must I be dead in order to become your hero?

...To give my name to some dusty streets?

...To be in your rarely opened school books?

...To remember me by some forgotten brooks?

...To see the letters of my name when you read my writings

Having no idea about my looks?
