I though it was a good movie and it was the goriest movie I've ever seen. Whats your opinion on this movie?
Not the goriest, but definately a nice spot fest. I loved it, probably because I thought it was more of a fan-film than a remake. Everyone involved seemed to be having way too much fun with it. I liked the reemphasis on the family hierarchy and the additional family members was a nice level of depth that the original left wanting. I love Ajas pacing and great use of sound. I realize I'm probably in the minority with this opinion but oh well, I'm a dork.
i thought the addition of characters was to add length and give the writers more oppurtunitys to kill it gory ways. the movie was lame. shock for the sake of shock.
Sucked. Straight up, it sucked. I do agree with Ajas and music, his scores are always really great and definatly add to the dirty feeling an exploitation movie should give, though hills and hightensions werent exploitations, its the closest thing in the past 20 years. If its the goriest movie youve seen, you definatly havent seen a lot of good horror movies.
i heard from a couple people they like the original better but ive only seen the new one it was ok nothin too special
I thought it was absolute bollocks. The rape scene was unnecessary and the end was just ridiculous. As if!
it was ok i never got to finish it tho cuz half way through my friend start cring and rocking back n forth and saying i was sick for watching it!
I thought it was alright. I prefer Craven's original, especially the ending. It was far more effective as it blurred the line between the civilised and the savage (kind of like in Last House on the Left). In the end of the original you are left wondering just who is in the right and how that happened, whereas in the remake those answers are given to you. And the whole thing with Ruby...how very convienient.... I thought Aja had good intentions in changing the focus and morality of the film but, in the end, it was the original that left me the most unsettled. In Aja's film the horror only comes from outside the 'good' characters, but in Craven's the horror eventually comes from inside them as well, and that is a far more scary concept.
