I have a question !

    how come you can't just put the spanish letters together and make words like you do in english? how would i be able to make sentences?

    If only it were that easy, lol. The entire syntax in Spanish is different. If you haven't had any classes, I would suggest that first, before you begin to take it on by yourself. If you have no idea what you are doing, it can be difficult, and needless to say, frustrating.

    In learning any language (even your own first one) there is a rigid order to mastering the various skills:
    Listen ---> Speak
    Read ---> Write

    As a baby you heard a lot of your native tongue before you ever uttered a word. The same way with reading and writing. You saw and studied the letters and words before you practiced writing them.

    If you want to learn Spanish you have to find a source to learn from. And even then the process isn't easy. It takes years to master any language, just as it took you years to master your first language.

    That said, it's also very interesting and satisfying as an intellectual activity. It puts your own first language into much better perspective, and it opens cultural doors that are at present closed to you.
