I'm an old American who pretty much grew up on oatmeal as being synonymous with hot cereal. There was Ralston, Malt o Meal and Cream of Wheat or Cream of Rice, but hardly anyone we knew bought any other kind of hot cereal.
[IMG]And where I came from if it wasn't Quaker Oats then it was probably H-O Oats.[IMG]Over the years my taste has changed. I've eaten Quinoa, Muesli, barley, cream of rye and other grains as well.[IMG]Thankfully, we never had Maypo. So what is YOUR favorite hot breakfast cereal ???

    farina

  9. I'd never heard of farina either, but from Wikipedia's definitions of both that and Cream of Wheat, it sounds a bit like what I'd call Ready Brek.
