I have butterflies in my stomach

Its that time again for my daughter to try out for her club volleyball season.

Britt made the 18's elite team last year and hopes to make it this year.

The coach from last year is coaching again this year but has gone out and totally recruited all of these really tall girls, i mean like 6' and taller. Britt is only like 5'8. She has been trying out with the elite teams candidates but there are 13 trying out and only 11 will make it.

I hope she makes the elite team or she will be really disappointed. The next team down is ok, but its more like a highschool level and her playing is a little bit above that.

so here i sit, butterflies in stomach waiting for the results.

Actually reuniting with someone after a long absence, family reunions... anticipating certain things at work... like this coming tuesday when a person who fabricated something to substantiate a complaint of harassment against me will be meeting with the plant manager with a list of complaints- chiefly against my shift... (!)

i cant see you harrassing anyone. Good luck with that, I am sure it will turn out for the best and they will realize this person totally fabricated the whole thing.

 

The "harassment" complaint happened last July and since then the person has been turning on everyone. I'm anticipating that the plant manager will have had just about enough from this person and may deliver an ultimatum- though a meeting with my shift may happen as well. As much as I don't like shit happening to folks I work with it's a teensy bit gratifying seeing my credibility being bolstered by the less than teamlike behavior on this person's part.

In July I wrote in business letter form a response to the complaint and had it placed in my file along with the write-up. I pointed out that the quotations attributed to me were complete fabrications and the complaint itself was a form of intimidation against me- the company's time and resources were being marshalled for fraudulent purposes.

 

Is this person fabricating the stories in management or is this person above you?

 

This person operates a machine I was supposed to be training on this past summer. She is also a black woman.

 

enough said. not trying to stereotype or anything.

I can just tell where this complaint is going. So, she still works there right?

I cant believe this is taking them so long to take care of.

 

Officially the July issue is dead and I have a strike against me. I await the results of the current drama hoping for the chance to request the mark be taken off my record.

I am peeved that despite the fact that the complaint accused me of behaving out of character, she was given the presumption of credibility and my counter-accusations were not pursued, although I do understand why they weren't. My position is that while the company HAS the duty to protect those employed by it from harassment and intimidation by co-workers they have equal responsibility to protect against those who unscrupulously use write-ups and official protocol as a means of intimidation. At present there is a hint of reverse discrimination but I understand that the plant manager's hands are tied with the race and gender issues.

 

the only time i'd have butterflies is when i know i have a competition coming up, but the day of is no butterflies, only leading up to that day

ok update.

My daughter didnt make the elite team. Nope, her and another girl from last year both got cut down to the 18 gold.

Am I happy, oh hell yes. After seeing the parents of the other girls that made the elite team this year-well lets just say, i could of dealt with the pompous assholes for maybe 5 minutes before telling them to shove their attitudes up their asses.

She is happy too, all of her friends are on the 18's gold. If she is happy, I am happy.

she got a letter from a college in birmingham, alabama who wants to see her vball tapes. That's a plus.

She got a letter from the cal universities sayng she is guaranteed a spot in a cal uni. (academics) Lets hope she can get financial aid or some scholorships cuz i sure the hell cant afford that. she has nothing to do with her dad, so there is no help there.
