ive always said theres no such thing as an addiction and this may sound totaly stupid but i cant quit smoking ciggeretes. it used to be that i would smoke socialy, but now i take pack after pack of my moms smokes...i just take 2 out of the carton go up to my room and listen to music. i promised myself i would quit so i dont get cancer and so i can be there for the girl i like, but i just see one and light up. any suggestions on quiiting without using those patches or gums would be highly appriciated!!

Maybe just keep yourself busy with other things? Or replace it with something else, like... chocolate... or something.

It's basic psychology.Replace it with another oral fixation, like over eating or cock sucking or thumb sucking. Lol sorry I don't know, just go cold turkey. I think it's easier to go cold turkey when your young.

I disagree on it being easier to quit cold turkey when ur young...i mean im only 17 and ive tried to quit tons of times and can't. It's al about your mind...if u convince urself you can do it, u should be able to. Just tell yourself you dont need it...I'm not very strong willed, so i can't do it that way, but i know lots of people that have.

well, first off, it's pretty obvious that there is such thing as addiction. you can psychologically become addicted to anything. and then there are the substances out there that are chemically addictive, like....nicotine! it sounds like you want to quit though. so here is my advice. quit. no matter how hard it is, just don't use one. work out, go out with friends, do something that doesn't give you a great oppurtunity to smoke. if you don't smoke for 3 days, you made it.

If you have something in your life that is important to you, and you know that whatever you are addicted to will destroy that important thing, then you can quit.

My first piece of advice is, quit... sounds simple but and not helpful but you either do or you dont smoke them.

Second, as you said the morning is a good time to quit because you've already been tobacco free for 6-8 hours.

Third, you havent quit and untill you've quit for a month, don't do the whole "well im not a smoker one would be really nice right now and wont hurt me"

because one is all it takes to be right back where you started!

well, you can replace that addiction with a more serious one such as shooting heroin. then all your time will be focused on that and as far as i know heroin can't give you cancer. but seriously, its all mental and motivation.
