    Hey!

Well I'm off to South Africa on 30 July! I'm going for two weeks to do some voluntary work at a game reserve and helping out with the lion and elephant conservation project inparticular. I also may get the chance to take part in some of the community projects the reserve supports. I am very excited, this will be a dream come true for me. I'm a little nervous too, but hey you know how it is! :) Wish me luck.

I knew this was coming to you for a little while now and before I know it, you'll already be there. Congratulations on having the opportunity to live out one of your dreams - you certainly deserve it and I know you'll do wonderful work while you're there. I hope to see some pictures sometime after you return. Best wishes, good times & safe travels to you Lyndsey. I look forward to catching up with you when you return, if not before.

Hey, thanks! :) It's good to hear from you. Yep this certainly is one of my big dreams, I can't actually believe that I'm going yet. I sometimes have clear moments when I realise and I get a little freaky, haha.
(PS- I've sent you a pm)

thanks sunburst, I will definately enjoy all those things! :)

I'm going to a place about an hour from Port Elizabeth. During the week I'm staying at the game reserve volunteering and then at the weekends I am free to explore the area. :)

Ooh yeh I'm sure Zimbabwe is a beautiful place aswell, I would love to visit one day!

Wow, well I got back a couple of weeks ago and I wish I was back there! I had the most amazing time, met some awesome people and experienced so much in just two weeks! I got to help out at an orphanage, teach at a school, monitor lions and in my spare time did a bungy jump! I can't wait to go back and see more of the country. :)

Congratulations on a wonderful adventure and safe return Lyndsey... I look forward to catching up with you better when time allows. May I put in a request? I thought so. Yes, please, I'd like to see some more of your photography in your gallery, over a month ago, a couple weeks ago, and still, today, same request although this is the first time I've brought it to your attention. Did I mention I'd like to see more of your photography? Excellent. I can hardly wait. Talk to ya soon sweetie!

Have fun wisely yeah...i dont want to be a drag but the reason why we left was to survive and not have to look over our shoulder every 5 minutes....trust me just be aware. My friend was shot in the heart and she was s ingle mother left behind her little boy of 5...all because she stopped at a red traffic light..5 'zulus' jumped on her car roof and as she sped off she was shot through her open windeow...we have lost so many friends but this was the most recent one.....the senery is beautiful and the english and afrikaans speaking people are so friendly and happy but watch out for the xhosas and zulus......there are some friendly ones but just beware...oh and NEVER catch a 'taxi' those mini bus type things driven by the zulus....you may never climb out the same again...
    Blessings

Hey, only just got the internet set up in my new place at uni, but will be putting up some photos soon. :)

Beesewglad, I have been back from south africa for a while now and fortunately did not have any problems (aside from airport ones!). I'm sorry about the bad experiences you've had in South Africa it sounds terrible, I see you're living in the UK now, do you think you'd ever move back to SA?
I actually stayed in an area with a lot Xhosa people and had a lot of contact with them through helping at an orphanage and school, everyone I encountered was really friendly and welcoming. I felt a little uneasy in some urban areas but I spent most of my time in a rural part.
