I don't get it. Is that supposed to be a joke or just a way to see how many fucking idiots will actually donate money through PayPal?

I'd say that God running for president would be a violation of the constitutional seperation of church and state but I doubt God has much to do with the church.

There are people who will send that guy their $$ and what he's is doing is 100% legal. It's gonna cost the guy very little and every penny he recieve's is pure gravy.
Damn I'm pissed I didn't think of it!.

Actually, the phrase "seperation of church and state" isn't from the Constitution.

    From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Separation_of_church_and_state_in_the_United_States
The phrase separation of church and state is a common interpretation of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment, which reads, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof . . . ." The phrase itself does not appear in any founding American document, but it has been quoted in opinions by the United States Supreme Court.

    From: http://www.usconstitution.net/jeffwall.html
Thomas Jefferson wrote a letter to the Danbury Baptist Association in 1802 to answer a letter from them written in October 1801. A copy of the Danbury letter is available here: http://members.tripod.com/~candst/tnppage/baptist.htm The Danbury Baptists were a religious minority in Connecticut, and they complained that in their state, the religious liberties they enjoyed were not seen as immutable rights, but as privileges granted by the legislature - as "favors granted." Jefferson's reply did not address their concerns about problems with state establishment of religion - only that on the national level. The letter contains the phrase "wall of separation between church and state," which led to the short-hand for the Establishment Clause that we use today: "Separation of church and state."

And I fully agree with what you said, "I doubt God has much to do with the church"... plus I doubt any god (maybe one from this list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God_of_war) would want the job, after all there's probably limits on how much mess can be cleaned up with miracles. No only enough folks getting off their asses & voting will do that.

It's just that I too am a fan of Thomas Jefferson and I fully agree with the quote you have in your sig. If I could, I'd go back in time to listen to him and the other great thinkers of that time. But I wouldn't tell them how things have turned out, I'd hate to see the Founding Fathers cry.

Like the monkey from Family Guy too........

The (Jefferson) quote is ringing especially true these days with freedoms eroding steadily away while the populice is being kept too fat and lazy to give a damn.

It's campaign season and people paying any degree of attention to the spots can get a real sense of just how stupid and simplistic the candidates think we are. What really pisses me off is that we keep proving them right. I can't help but wonder what God's campaign spots might be like.

If he were running for a municipal office- say a mayor- he could nominate Jesus to run public utilities and turn city water into wine. If the coffers ran short of revenue, instead of raising taxes he could raise the dead and assess them- then do them in again before they have a chance to complain... of course that trick could be played out on a federal level but the smell might be a bit tough to take.

Yup, that's one of the other points that site makes, that people are STUPID if they vote for someone for religious reasons. And even stupider if they donate to a campaign for religious reasons.

Nobody has yet to realize the other point the site makes...

What would happen if God WON as a write in???

He/She/It/They would have to show up to be sworn in.

And remember, one of the greatest all time scams:
Get a Post Office Box. Put an ad in the local paper, "Last Chance, send $10 money order to P.O.Box XXX" You'll make a ton of money.

It's the same as writing in "none of the above" and having that victorious. If I had limitless money I'd do everything in my power to wage a radio, TV, and Newspaper campaign to write in "none of the above". Problem is getting a population that is afflicted by a brain atrophy epidemic to grasp the concept that none of the candidates have their interests at heart. We are willfully ignorant... actively resisting any real information, favoring the palatable little tidbits spoon-fed to us by the media. An ignorant population is easy to control; a willfully ignorant population deserves what they get.
