for every rule there is a few excpetions. keith richards is an exception to every rule. there needs to be a way to unite all the people of equal values. but a problem enlies in the liberal stereotype of laziness. it takes a good deal to get liberals pissed off enough to take action. i think we are nearing that point but i still think something else drastic will have to occur to get enough people pissed off to make a big difference. at the same time the damn conservative media would need to cover whatever goes on. i hate to say it but i think that the reinstatement of the draft would help get people off of their asses. it would be something that would directly effect the people
I lived through the draft. All people of all sectors were impacted. Today only a certain segment is affected...well all sectors are, but some are just getting rich while others are losing their children and young husbands and wives. Back during Vietnam only women serving as nurses risk loss of life. Now there are many more low income women losing their lives and being injured in this conflict...we never hear much about that. Wonder how well the Veteran's Administration will take care of them? I don't think too many give that much thought. We sit back and let enlisted individuals take the flack for Abu Ghraib. We don't demand that those that commanded them answer to the misconduct, whether they be uniform or private contractors. The people in charge got a pass, the little man took the heat. These were our children who signed up to do a job, with the oversight of private contractors, who are now held above the law of conflict. Blackwater contractors tell our kids what to do, and the kids face courtmartial, but the high paid contractors get a pass.
