COME ON!!! i know its not the same since Layne died but still, I saw Alice in Chains in concert 2 weeks ago and they were fucking AWESOME AS SHIT!!! it was great, that was the coolest concert ever. The new singer is so good, you should buy their new cd too with the 2 discs...its pretty badass
No. I refuse to accept Alice In Chains as Alice In Chains without Staley. As for their "new" cd... It really pissed me off when I read two lucky people who purchase the record from our store will receive a copy that has been autographed by all four current band members. That's just great considering the new fourth band member has nothing to do with the cd. Everything on it is original AIC stuff with Staley on vocals. There is really no point in buying it if you are an Alice In Chains fan because you probably allready own all of it. It's all been released time and time and time and again.
i dont give a shit, the rest of the guys were there and it was awesome people need to stop being so small minded and just let the new guy have a chance, hes a good singer and i know its not the real alice in chains, but who cares they still play good.
I love Staley. I saw Jerry Cantrell a few years ago(billed as himself, not AIC) and he played a set of originals and a set of AIC.....the best damn show I have seen in a long time
im not gonna lie ive been closed minded about the new touring aic to me alice aint alice without layne and im well aware of the fact that jerry wrote most of they shit i know its probably and awesome show and shit too i dont know , just had no desire to see it
i encourage you to see them...i dont think they should go on as AIC, but its a mindblower of a show, i aint kiddin
ditto. grrr. i've been arguing with my bf and friends since we saw them in AC months ago, for the vh1 thing. it is NOT aic, and who the fuck is this guy? the best part of that night was when duVall shut up and phil anselmo came out and sang!!! i think it would be different if they wrote some new songs, and released an album or whatever, and toured, and threw in some old aic songs, but why does this guy get to prance around as "the lead singer for aic", when he has contributed NOTHING to the band? he's not even that good--i've seen aic cover bands whose singers were MUCH better (ie: Facelift). against my better judgement, we are going to see them at the Borgata in Ac again. we got GA seats, which helps. after this, i will not spend another penny on seeing this non band. my 2c. thanks. peace. LP
oh, yeah, and why should i do this? is there something new on there? something i haven't already bought? haven't already heard? something to prove that this clown is worthy of singing for this otherwise awesome band? ok, so 3c. peace.
theyre making a new cd i think...but it would be way better with staley....the new guy is good tho, he was when i saw them
i guess i'm one of the few people who has not heard him sing yet don't think i've seen any footage on youtube guess i need to keep my eye out for the CD
Sooooo because staley is dead, alice in chains sucks, but people still listen to guns n roses.... hrmmmm.... I hear the guy from linkin park is singing with alice in chains, thats a shame, theyre in my top 5 of all time.
ummm....jesus the jedi... there's no one from linkin park in alice in chains. thank god. that would be awful. and gnr is just axl with another band behind him. lame, as well. but if velvet revolver was calling themselves gnr (we all know there'd be a major axl lawsuit) and performing only old gnr songs, it would be the equivelent of the new aic. BUT, the borgata show was sat night, and while the GA crowd was boring--i didn't even get bumped--it was a decent show, with two 5-7 minute Layne video tributes on the big screen, and jerry and sean chatting about him....25 songs, jerry did a lot of singing, etc. only a few times did william duvall try to do the layne wailing thing and it made me cringe. as much as i wanted to hate it, i really enjoyed the show and had a great time. they sounded really good. the merch booth had some new tour shirts, plus facelift, tripod (grind), and rooster shirts and sunburst logo shirts and layne memorial shirts...a kickass new hoodie, stickers, keychains, hats, etc....the new CD for $25, a dvd for 15....i also have plenty to say about the REselling of the old merch at the new shows, but whatever. junkhead, i hate to say it, but check out a show, preferably a GA one. you won't be (too) disappointed. peace. LP
I saw jerry cantrell when he opened for metallica in 98. good set..... mostly his solo stuff, but a few AIC songs mixed in and he closed out his set with floyd's brain damage/eclipse, which was a treat initself..... my brother and his wife are going to see AIC in a few days....
I saw them live a few months ago and they still rock. I haven't checked this album out though, but not because they have a different vocalist.
