So, as some of you read in my past thread on here, I finally got the girl I wanted...but its moreso than that. This time, she really is the girl I've waited my whole life for it seems. I mean, we're a little distance away (2 hours) but we pretty much have a 2 week rule, where the longest we'll allow ourselves to go without seeing each other is 2 weeks, but I am really starting to think now that this girl really may be "the one" for me. So, we've known each other a little over 4 months, and had been "unnoficially dating" for maybe 3 months, and have been officially together since September 24th, and I first said "I love you" to her about 2 weeks ago. Now this is not the "lovesick rambling" of some high schooler, I'm 20, and I have had relationships in the past. Same with her (she was in a 4 and a half year long relationship with a total asshole before me). We've both talked about this...and we've both come to the conclusion that this is more than just a younger-person casual love thing. This is really serious. I mean, we've known each other for 4 months, and are now saying, completely truthfully, that we can see this not ending. I know what you're going to say, that this is just the "honeymoon stage", that we're just really excited right now because its new. I've felt that before, and I guarentee you, this is so much more. I mean, we both literally hurt when we are apart. Everytime I see a picture of her or hear her name, my heart just races and skips beats. And when I see her, its like time just slows to a stop, and nothing else in the entire world matters but her smile. Sorry to be all gushy, but its the truth. Thats why I'm wondering...can someone really be "the one" after a fairly short amount of time? I really feel like she is, and she's told me that she feels I am "the one" for her as well...so I guess I'm just wondering what is going on here.

...But whatever it is, I love it, and I don't want it to ever go away...

Oh no, trust me, he was an ASSHOLE. And he was even the one who broke up with her. The whole reason she stayed with him for so long was that she lives in an EXTREMELY small, secluded rural town, and she honestly didn't really understand that she could get much better. She basically "got used" to him, and just stayed, regardless of how much of a dick he was.

Unfortunately, this is actually a lot more common that you'd think in this day. I've talked to a lot of gals from small towns that married young and are now divorced with one or two kids. They simply choose the best of a bad lot, not realizing there's a big world out there. On the other hand, I know a lot of gals in larger cities who complain about the lack of quality men as well. It's simply a matter of what you're brought up with, I guess.
