dont know if I should have posted this here or elsewhere....

I am majoring in Art History, and I was wondering if there were any others here, too. And if so, what do you plan on doing? Im up in the air, but at a point to where I need to descide soon.

Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanx

you could always be an art history teacher, or work in a museum, or write a book.... thats what most of em seem to do

yeah...Ive thought of those. I think I might teach, but not right at the beginning. I have a friend that worked at a museum, and she hated it because of the politics and non-profit people. Apparently they're a rough bunch to deal with

keep searching around.. just because she worked for a bad museum doesnt mean they're all horrible. maybe look for a younger gallery to get involved with.. i'd offer more advice but i dont know what options you hold with an art history degree. you must be really intrested in it to have taken the degree though.. so im sure something will come to you. : ) i hope it does

yea I have heard alot of bad things about the politics of non-profits, I personally would avoid them at all costs.

but having a degree in anything will increase you getting a job in anyfield since it shows you can work hard and have some dedication. people i have met with art history degrees worked for decorating companies
