I can't believe it, I've just wasted almost a whole fucking ounce of green!!!! I used ethanol and methanol (surgical spirit) to make some oil, and I only just found out the methanol is ridiculously toxic, and can even cause death!!!!!!! I tried a small amount of the hash oil, and realised something was wrong as it tasted like shit, so I looked up the qualities of meths, and to say the least it fucking poisonous, like really really dangerous! It can cause permanent and irreversable harm. It's so annoying, because the smoke I had of it was damned potent. Grrrrrrrrrrrahhhrrrr I've only got one bowl of green left That's what you get for reading things on the net, a guy I spoke to said he'd used meths for oil making, he must have been fucking me around. I just can't believe it, I feel like an dumb idiot, I'm sooooo annoyed. Why the fuck do they sell this stuff in chemists if it's so poisonous?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! And why the fuck did I just not research meths properly in the first place?!?!? Because I'm bloody impetuous. Now I've learnt the hard way, and I'm lucky not to have realy harmed myself.
bah, pretty much any solvent ya can use is toxic...thats why you have to evaporate your stuff as much as you can. But I wouldnt use methanol its just not really inviting. I would have used iso alcohol, its the less toxic i believe ... take example butane, it gives me the spins even if i make the oil outside ;p (but its also really easy to evap completely.)
maybe you could use Isopreponal to wash the methyl w/e out? reaserch before you threw the batch out dude.

I'll do it right next time! :sunglasse It's not worth it, meths is just way too toxic and it leaves a residue in the oil that you can't burn off or wash out effectively. From what I've read, I'm lucky to have not ended up in hospital. Iso, acetone or ethanol leaves very little or no harmful residue and they are safer to evap than butane, so that's what I will use next time I have some weak greenery. The batch has been thrown out, I aint touching it. I use MJ to help control health problems, not cause them. So, I'm dry once again :$ fuck!....

The weed was mild and wasn't really helping the pain, if you condense the active chemicals enough they are more efficient at painkilling. Thankfully I have now refilled my greenery tin, and the show is back on the road!
Next time try butane It is much easier to evap from the oil. Hell, at room temp, your puddle of butane, soon to reduct to oil, might boil so much its volatile Youd be surprised what an ounce of not so good stuff can make. And butane extracted oil is the best painkiller ;p
