Anyone spend time in rivers? This is a beautiful thing. I give up my shirt and shoes completely for a day and spend time in the river. I like sunrise the best. I swim neck deep in the river when it's tranquil and look all around at the sunbeams coming through the trees and the insects on the water. Things looks different when you're just above the water. Either a beaver or wood chuck was out there with me. He swam by me with his head just above water. If you stay quiet you can watch them working building dams and things. Storks are seen pirching on fallen trees in the river. They are very shy and let out a horrible screach when they take off. The fish nibble at my toes and poke me in the back and chest. It's a spooky feeling. It drives me crazy but I have to put up with it. Where the river bends there's always a lot of silt built up. It's basically quicksand and feels really funny when you walk through it. It's very fine and sticky, almost like walking in chocolate pudding. I have trouble finding anyone that wants to do these things with me. People don't want to even get their feet muddy, let alone go in a river completely. They miss out on a lot of fun. .
closest I've ever come is tubing down the Rainbow River in Dunnellon, FL. I used to live near there and every few weeks a bunch of people would go down the river. It's clear to the bottom and cold! But beautiful. we'd get someone to hold our tube and swim down for a while. It took a few hours to get to the place where we'd get out. I sure miss that.
I've never tried tubing but will try it. The water is warm where I'm at. It feels warmer than the air temperature. .
We live close to the Altamaha River in Georgia. We go boating down there, and it really is nice. Just throw out the anchor and my dad fishes while I just kind of lay there with my eyes closed and take in the sounds of the water lapping ashore and the birds and the wind rustling through the trees and the fish jumping nearby. It's a fabulous way to get out of your mind for a little while. I like to go if I have too much stress from school or friends, and I can just loose myself in un-human stuff. Frankly, I'm not a fan of humans. (yes I know I am one) I hate pollution and violence and war and destroying of the environment to make our miserable lives more comfortable. Animals being killed for our amusement and their homes being burnt and chopped so we can build more houses... >< But that's another subject entirely. Yes, it is wonderful going to the river. I love to bring my dogs and throw a rope out in the water and they'll go rushing out to get it off the dock. Like I said -- it's a great way to get away.
on trips during holidays i have been playing and swimming in the river in the mountains. always cold and always fun. in my homecountry the water is always blurred due to mud and stuff but in the mountain i have been areas it isn“t on nice sunny days, that really rocks! so beautiful
Fuck yes, I spend lots of time in the river! I've gone with a bunch of friends a lot this summer, and we've been having the greatest time! Nothing like swimming in the river, man. It's calming, peaceful, rejuvenating...you can't beat it! I love being in tune with nature.
Where I go, rivers are too fucking dangerous, so we would spend mostly of our times swimming in a beautiful lake near my friend's place. Really fun! We make mud fights and it's so damn funny!
Oh man, I LOVE LOVE LOVE tubing down rivers. It's just sooo chill and relaxing and quite a beautiful site! I wish the summer were not already over so I could go and float down as I speak!
