Whats the best shampoo to use when forming dreads? I need to try and find something like at kroger. (A residue free shampoo, i know..) Any brands come to mind? Alicia
Most people use Dr. Bronner's (tea tree) and the knotty boy shampoo is suppose to be good to which i Will probably be getting even though it is a bit pricey right now I'm using the one I got from Dreadhead hq(Eww) and I'm not too fond of it
you can get Dr. Bronner's at some organic sections of supermarkets, especailly at a health food store. The rest of it needs to be ordered online. And DreadheadHQ Shampoo is pretty dope stuff, in my mind/hair.
I, personally, like Dr. Bronner's the best. I've never tried anything else...simply because I never needed to.
They smell better. DHHQ cleans your hair thoroughly, but doesn't add any beneficial things like tea tree, or fragrance like knotty boy and bronners can. I prefer DHHQ (because I have a lot of it. I got in a promo. When I run out, I'm going to move onto Bronner's Tea Tree oil.), and for scent I usually burn incense around me, or put a little fragrance oil (super diluted) sprayed on. I don't really care about fragrance that much except for when I'm taking my girl out.
ahh if u got aot for free send me some..lol i go thru alot especualy when iused bronners when i used to use regullar shampoo 1 bottle would wash my hair 3 or 4 times & be gone thats why i like the knottyboy bar shampoo, it lasts me alot longer
yeah. DHHQ also appeals because it has the same consistency as 'normal' shampoo, and so it is easier for many people to adjust to. Bronners is really thin, and doesn't lather up in the same way, and so some people might not be cleaning their hair properly.
