I sure didn't, still pissed at my mom and dad for moving to an old person neighborhood. There are still charms about my neighborhood, mainly concerning the old man across the street who would throw tiny bits of copper pipe at my cousin and I. Or when we were twelve and we would race on little kid trike and various small form plastic vehicles throwing pinecones at eachothers heads. It was a very charming, much more quaint and submissive. I always envied those kids that had like 9 kids on the block and they would do whatever 9 kids could do. Tell me about your neighborhood.
I couldn't have had a better neighborhood growing up. We had two NHL players, a former NFLer, a MLBer and right out my front door were the foothills with some amazing hiking trails. The natural open space was definitely the best part. There weren't too many kids my age but I survived
I lived in a serious drug neighborhood before I did drugs... We moved to a shitty old folk area just as I started doing drugs.
I have been impoverished my whole life and I have a crackhead for a dad, whom I haven't seen in quite a few years. There are much worse living conditions you could be living in. Be thankful. As for my neighborhood.......I have lived in some shitty environs. I lived in a fuckin white trash trailer park. I have also been homeless and had to live in a small camper with 6 other people and a dog. Right now I live in a double-wide up on a hill in the middle of bumfuck.
Oh gosh I terribly miss the neighborhood I grew up in! It was pretty chill and laid back! Ahhh the good ole days
My neighbourhood was pretty cool, i moved into the house i'm in now when i was 7, we had like over 40 kids on the block, just a bunch of people who lived near the school who knew each other.. after my brother left it all died and now my neighbourhood is pretty shit, its not as exciting as it used to be. he caused most the havoc in the area and there was heaps of skating back in those days. I remember the days, those crazy days!
I lived in the suburbs, Moreno Valley California, well it was SUnnymead when my parents bought house there. I loved it, and feel lucky for my upbringing. MoVal sucks now, but 20 years ago, it was a great place to grow up.
aww yes the burbs. Playing basketball in a friends backyard; every kid in the neighborhood in one big baseball game in the street. "CAR" and everyone knows to move to the side and when the car passes through we continue the game till everyones parents call them into eat. Summer nights playing by the moonlight and the streetlights. Requesting songs on the radio. Building dirt jumps and treehouses. Damn, where has my youth gone.
grew up in a upper-middle class neighborhood, had like 10+ friends within a 10 minute walk and probably 30 more within a 20 minute walk the thing with living in upscale neighborhoods, is that they can only get worse, which mine has, the kids who's parents have money dont feel the need to work, so they just turn out to be skids roaming the streets at night looking for a cheap way to get fucked up etc. with these dirtballs bring other dirt balls from shittier neighborhoods, which ultimately makes out good old neighborhood look bad oh well, I live downtown now so dont have much to worry about, just shitty to see such a good neighborhood kinda fall
speaking of neighborhoods and ghettos and shit, me and one of my friends had just got done smoking a feww fat bowls of some quality herb and he wants to go to the skatepark. which is right near the ghetto. so then he takes a wrong turn and were driving through the roughest part of town. i wouldnt mind usually, but we were in a bright red jeep liberty, and on every corner, everyone was staring at us. it was sketch
quete a normal neighbourhood to the untamed eye. in reality theres atleast 1 drug dealer in every street. its not too scruffy but is rough. loads of pissed teens causing havoc, tons of fights but its all good- there are nice places to get stoned at at and quete a few people to keep you company
