I hate it when they surprisingly pop out of your bra and stab you in the boob! What the heck is this!?!?!? arg... we've got to come up with a better solution!
I know! The plastic ones aren't quite so bad with it, I usually end up stitchign closed the hole since it's rare I find a bra that's comfy enough to wear for more than a couple hours, but it still makes me grumpy
Put clear nail polish on each end of the underwire....that's what I do and I've never had a wire pop.
i keep meaning to try one of the bras that dont have an actual wire, but are supposed ot have the same kind of support. anyone else tried one?
there are lots of good supportive bras that do not have underwires. I never wear underwires, they are too painful, and cause plugged ducts in most lactating moms. Heard they increase the risk of breast cancer, too. the most supportive bras I have ever worn are made by Jeunique. Very expensive, and very much worth every penny of the cost! But even Hanes and Playtex make good supportive non-underwire bras, if you wear DD or smaller, they just aren't real pretty.
i bought the wireless bra from victoria's secret they just came out with it. IT SUX i did not get the same support as i did from a bra with wires my boob sagged like i wasn't wearing a bra. how ridiculous. i returned the bra and told them that this bra gave me no supprt. a couple people behind me had the same bra and went and put it back on the racks and left.LOL
I ripped all the underwires out a while back...but I have small boobies so they were sort of useless anyway...
mamaboogie, the cancer risk is the tightness over the lymph system. see Dressed to Kill for more on the theory. (and it is just a theory) can be caused by a bra with or without wire, or even a really tight apron top/ empire waist, if someone is into discomfort.
I am in love with this bra because there's no underwires...and it's hot as hell and I have big boobs so they do support well www2.victoriassecret.com/commerce/application/prodDisplay/?namespace=productDisplay&origin=onlineProductDisplay.jsp&event=display&prnbr=XE-199901&page=2&cgname=OSBRPNOWZZZ&rfnbr=51 I like this one for when no ones gonna be seeing it, it's soooo comfy www2.victoriassecret.com/commerce/application/prodDisplay/?namespace=productDisplay&origin=onlineProductDisplay.jsp&event=display&prnbr=XE-198955&page=1&cgname=OSBRPNOWZZZ&rfnbr=51
I bought a knock off version of the kind like the new VS bra and I didn't like it. It's like....the bra kinda pushed my boobs to the side....like under my arm so it looked like I had a thick piece of ham under each arm. Haha. It was uncomfortable too. I threw it out after one use. I have a kind that my dad's fiance bought for me....it has elastic on each side of the cups....I forget the brand....but it gives me the support an underwire does. And, it's a comfortable bra. It conforms to my boobs as they grow and shrink since I'm nursing, but it isn't a nursing bra. It's kinda like spandex....it keeps the shape in check....but if it's cold out, I don't suggest it.
I have big boobs and the bras I like don't hold up for me. They last about three months and then the underwire pops out and pokes me. I got fed up with it last week when it popped out and ripped them out. Surprisingly, it was very comfortable and still held its shape. It was a VS Angels lightly lined demi bra, and those are my favourites. Unfortunately they are ideal for an A or B cup.
