Madonna Adopts Baby from Africa

I wonder if this is a good thing? The Baby's name is David.

 

Well, the kid will live a cushy lifestyle, at least... This is pretty obvious.

 

She also gave a lot of money to help children in the country.

How about the other way around - why wouldn't i be a good idea?

 

Is it me or is this becoming a trend for celebrities? This little boy's life and his future has defintely been turned upside down!

 

Are poor, starving African children becoming this year's handbag?

 

The adoption is actually unsure at this stage.. A Malawi human rights organization is seeking a court injunction to stop the adoption.

It's great the children are being adopted, but it seems to me they are turning into the new small dog every second celebrity is carrying around. But at least they are adopted.

 

it does seem to be a new trend amongst the hollywood stars doesnt it, not that it'll neccisarily be a bad thing, it is wonderful that the children are being adopted and will obviously have very easy lives.

I know this is going to sound bad.....but ..we have a lot of poor ..hungry ..homeless babies here in the U. S.....why couldnt she adopt one of them ??

Well, it does kinda seem like it's becoming a Hollywood trend. Not that it's a bad thing, because gah, the kids need a family. Either way...as far as which country they adopt from, they all seem to go to a different country. Not to mention, we've all heard about the "starving kids in africa".

Adopting a baby right here does seem to make more sense.

Adoption in the US has a lot of red tape.

Even to adopt a pet from a shelter seems like a big deal. My co-worker adopted a dog, someone from the shelter came to inspect thhe house before releasing the puppy !

I can only imagine the hassles of adopting a child

 

most of these celebrities adopt and donate for publicity, not because they actually care. its really fucking sad and disgusting.

 

I don't care what they donate for, whether they care or not, as long as they're getting the money.

 

Take away that it's Madonna, take away that she has notoriety, take away that she has a lot of money, take away that she comes from America and that the boy is from Africa, take away that the media will do what the media does, and take away our interest in these particular people. I believe that what you end up with is that, in this world of billions of people, two people are joined together, however the circumstances or process, where one is going to take care of the other (hopefully well), and that is good by anyones standards. Anything else you make of it is purely sensationalistic.
