I've Recently Found Out That I'm Going To Have A Baby!!! Yay!!! But Everyday Until The Moment I Wake Up Till About 11/12 Pm I'm Totally Nauseous. I Never Throw Up Just Very Very Sick To My Stomach. As Soon As I Found Out The Good News I Stopped Drinking And Smoking, But I'm Wondering What Would Happen If I Smoked Pot To Easy My Nausea. Doctors Say Its Bad For Your Unborn Child But Have Any Of You Continued To Smoke Through Your Pregnancies And If So Was Your Child Born Completely Healthy???

There isn't a lot of research either way, if you exclude the obviously biased crap they throw out there.

If you can't get medications cheap enough through your midwife/general practitioner, then you might want to consider EATING marijuana. Or brewing it as a tea. The smoking of it might contribute to health problems because you are essentially limiting the amount of oxygen your babe gets, and it also henders the fetus' attempts at learning to breathe.

From what I've seen of parents that used marijuana in pregnancy, their children have no more health problems or social problems, or even mental hendrances than any other child from a non-marijuana-using mother.

They do drug testing here. If you don't consent to them testing you for drugs, they pretty much refuse to deal with you for your pregnancy.

Try crackers for your upset stomach. Someone here suggested it to me when I first found out I was pregnant and it worked. I used those little club crackers. They may help you, they may not.

Yeah, if you need to go the marijuana route, make sure you're dealing with a midwife and out-of-hospital birth. Or else you'll be dealing with tons of problems.

what about vaporizing? that cuts out the harmful carcinogens from smoking it. a lot of my friends smoked during their pregnancies to help with nausea. one of my friends had hyperemesis (extreamly bad morning, noon and night sickness) her whole pregnancy and whe was able to keep food down by taking a hit or two before eating.

I had medicaid for my pregnancy and it covered a midwife and homebirth. It varies state to state. If you say what state you're in, we might be able to help you figure out what your state covers. :)

I had a friend who smoked cigarettes and pot while pregnant and her OB said he would rather her give up the cigarettes over the pot.

Midwives will work with you, at least a majority will. Here a midwife usually is less than 3,000 for the whole pregnancy. A CNM I have no idea how much that is, I would imagine that's comparable to an OB in price. Midwives are usually willing to take payment plans, or even trade. I don't know what state you're in, but CNM's are legal in all states but I'm partial to homebirth midwives and they exist in all states, just aren't legal in all (but are in most). Let me know where you live and I can see what I can find for you if homebirth interests you.
