My rice has bugs on it :( Those little brown wiggly ones. Does anyone know of a way of rescuing my rice from teh bugs? There's a lot of rice left (I bought a giant bag a while ago of it)

    no bugs for me.

I had that happen with Bisquick, and I will never eat it again, even though it was my fault since it wasnt wrapped properly.

Well, I guess if you don't mind that they were once on your rice laying there little eggs and humping all over the grains and going to the bathroom on it, then I say FUCK IT, eat that shit up. BOIL THEM.

    yummMMMmmm extra protien!

if you freeze what's left the bugs will die. not sure how you get them out of the rice though

    :(

rice is cheap, buy new rice and compost the old buggy rice.

Weeeeevils. Weevils. Icky...I'd say so long to that bag of rice, feed it to the birds or something. I'm pretty sure the whole exploding bird thing is just a myth...but you can always experiment and see!

Yeah, rice is good for a dogs stomach. I would cook all those bugs in there though.

    Yeah it can be saved.

Strain it out and put it in the freezer as cold as your freezer will get for a week, then the investation will be gone, then strain it again.

Or you could strain it, put it in hot water (60c) for half an hour, then strain it again before you cook it.

rice is cheap when you have more than two dollars in your bank account and have maxed out your one credit card (thankfully a low limit, but still) aaand owe a hundred bucks towards your student fees still.

To me, any food seems expensive at this point.

I wish I only owed a hundred bucks to anything!

I would throw it out, but if you wanna save it, you know how now :)

I'd do the freezer thing. If the infestation isn't like, just downright ridiculous...It's not uncommon for basmati shipped from overseas to have a few hitchikers.
Honestly, you aren't eating it raw, they can't hurt you.
I understand the expensive food thing. We buy at discount joints...Buy on sale, & freeze...There are ways.
Best wishes. I hope you have a change and things start looking up more for you. :)
